Duffman's girl goes alright.... nice **** :D

+1. She's quality.

Doig medal obviously less valuable than Brownlow if Mundy can win it. Sandilands was night and day our best player this year.

And if you were going to do it on game averages :-
1) Sandilands
2) Barlow
3) Daylight
4) Start coin toss.

right on cue, memories.....

Congrats to Mundy. Excellent season. Well deserved.

...

He he memories, how long did it take you work out how to get a dig in.

BTW, anybody who knows anything about AFL will tell you that a club B&F is a better indication of 'best' or most valuable player for a club than the fickle Brownlow score.

Congrats to Mundy, obviously a couple more games out of 211 and lots more for Barlow could have meant a different story, but they have/will get theirs, nice to see Mundy who has remained faithful to us get rewarded. :thumbsu:

The Doig being the gala night for the club was a pretty ordinary event IMO. Michael Thompson was the MC and it was like listening to a sports report. I rekon Dixie would have been a better choice.

I think the gem of the night was Barlow's acceptance speech for the Beacon when he stated how much he loved the club and would like to be a 10 year player for Freo. Good on ya Mick. :thumbsu:

Haz's address was excellent. he received a standing ovation and was very emotional in his speech. Lets hope the club gives him some sort of mentoring / development role to show our kids how to bleed purple. Well done Haze. :thumbsu:

Steve Harris spoke about the re-launch and stated the whole exercise was about getting a legal entitlement to the name "Dockers". He said that research had shown that the most recognizable traits were the color purple, the name Dockers, the Anchor and the Song. There was no mention from either Harris or Rosich about any change to the song. Rosich did say a major announcement was pending about a redevelopment of Fremantle Oval in-conjunction with South Fremantle which includes some sort of members facilities.

I've heard whispers of this for a while.

Could be good.
In the redeveloped Subi or new oval, would be great od they had 2 or 3 bars available for members after the game, with a replay going...save having to go to pub in Subi and getting ripped off

Mundy had a very good season - his delivery is top shelf.

I thought Sandi was the man this year or Barlow on a per game ratio.

Votes are done per game not ratio or averages.

Sandilands missed 4 games if you count the finals game against Geelong (playing injured) Mundy was clearly our best in our 2 finals games which took him over the top.

Yeah, that's a no-brainer, Dixie would've been much better! Maybe she declined so she could enjoy the evening, not that that usually stops her!

And fair enough too, Finals games are on another level and if you perform in those it elevates your status I reckon. Big game players in any sport are gold.

It surely is a great result for Mundy. He will cherish the 'memories'.

It's the Beacon Award that I find really interesting. Is a top 3 or 4 released for this or just the recipient? Barlow is obviously well deserving of the award, but I can't help but think who should get it if he didn't. Whilst I'd go with Fyfe, Morabito and particularly Silvagni have also shown a lot this year.

Can anyone who went to the Doig medal happen to see Jebediah play afterwards?
Read in the article on the club website that they played after the Doig was awarded.
As a fan myself, was wondering if anyone who saw it and are familiar with them can tell me which songs they played, ie anything new?

Cheers :) Oh, and good on ya Mundy! A great season recognised in such a great way!

It just goes to whoever polls the highest in the Doig, so I'm guessing if Barlow wasn't eligible Fyfe would have most likely been next in line. Even though he missed the first 5 or so games he had a lot of consistently high quality games that would have polled strongly.

Pav's missus is quite exotic looking. Does anyone know her background?

Her last name is O'Shaunessy or something similar so i assume her Dad's side is Irish. Her dress must have been at the cleaners, looks like she's wearing a nightie in the pic.

Nice of McPharlin to bring his Mum. :thumbsu:

Pretty sure that's Luke McPharlin's wife...
