He’s off at the moment Monocle , but he’ll come good.

He’ll be given a spell this week I reckon

I genuinely hope so Biggie the .... "he'll come good" bit I mean ... but he worries me at the minute lacks footy smarts and he seriously lacks composure.

Lacking confidence isn’t he.

Started the year well too. After the foot injury, not so good.

It's odd because I've generally thought he was one of our more composed and skilful players. But when you add slow decision making and skills to someone with his footspeed, yikes. That's not a combination that'll hold you in good stead around these parts.

Yeah, he was rightly criticised for blindly kicking it too often when he got the ball, but having now seen the results of him taking his time to look around for options, I say go back to blindly kicking it. At least that way we've gained 40 metres before turning it over!
It's WAFL time. Which is fair enough if we're trying to change the way he plays. Hard to undo years of bad habits at the top level of the game.

He goes missing

He’s slow

And he thinks he quick.....

He’s young still but needs to know his limitations

Hi leans back on his kicking and guides it .....

Looks better when he kicks through the pill

I think sheeed can play ....just neeeds to know his limitations

The thing that stands out for me about Sheed is that for a guy that plays as an inside mid, he doesnt tackle and has no real defensive side to his game.

Thats a big worry, especially for a guy lacking in foot speed. Its not too late for him to develop this, but, if the fundamentals aren't in place now, i do wonder if they will ever be there

Pathetic effort from him, should spend the rest of the year at East Perth. Continuously burns shots at goal that other mids nail. Will never be better than c grade.

The rest of the year?

Calm down.

Maybe Biggie but right at the minute Derek Hine is looking pretty clever for trading down and picking up de Goey.

Like I have said numerous times before our recruiters would not be able to spot a quality mid if it bit them on the arse.
Sharenberg.
Not quite as bad tbh.

The real concern with sheed imo is how slow he is in mind. Reminds me of Masten in this regard.

Yes. That one early in the game, was it 1st or 2nd quarter. It was on the run, but only about 40m out, more or less straight in front under pretty much no pressure. You gotta kick those. Those goals make all the difference in close games against top sides.

Massive fan of Dom but agree he needs a spell in the 2's.

Think its time he really puts a solid effort into a preseason. He likes to play a bash and crash style of footy but just doesn't have the frame for it and even worse his tank ain't that great either. 2016 preseason Yeo put in a ton of work and not only did he emerge as a fitter player but also a much stronger player and not rest is history.

I'm not sure he'll ever be anything more than average. Started out hopeful, but now in his 4th year and having played 70 games I don't see him better for it. He seems to have got stronger but at times gets caught because he seems overconfident he can break a tackle.

He doesn't have any pace, and mostly only kicks well if he has lots of time and space. He frequently just throws a boot at the ball when under pressure.

I find myself annoyed when he is near a contest and an opposition player breaks and he doesn't seem to have any desire or capacity to chase, almost looks like he is holding back from being shown up for his lack of pace. A bit like when Priddis used to cop it for players just running away from him, but I think Priddis was better in close, laying a tackle or farming the ball out.

Will be happy for him to put my doubts to rest and become a better player than he is presently.

Has the makings of the IBWBLF but, and it’s a big but, he seems to be far too lazy/complacent. 185cm which is about 6’1 in the old scale so big enough for an inside mid in the modern game and is listed at around 87kg but his physique looks a touch “sloppy”. Could possibly be leaner or more cut at around the 185cm/85kg mark. Would help him break those tackles that he seems to love taking on.

Needs a massive pre-season and a rocket to say it’s not all beer and skittles being a child prodigy from Kalgoorlie that captains the WA U18 side and then coasts into a stellar AFL career. Takes hard work on top of obvious natural talent. I’m prepared to back him in but at 23 I can see why the patience of some is wearing thin. Make or break second part of 2018 I feel

None of our mids consistently nail shots for goal. If you've got some in mind please say who they are because I haven't seen them.

I've been a defender of his but I'm not sure what his best role is or if he's in our best 22 any more. He's not a bull inside mid. He's neither big enough to have a presence or desperate enough to get hands on it or tackle and hold it in like Pridda was.
He's way to slow to be effective on the outside, his loping steps possibly make him look slower than he is but LeCras still covers the deck better than him. The ridiculously long windup and high drop before he kicks must shit the forwards trying to lead for him. (Gaff and Braun have been our best over the years on the wing at collecting on the move and quickly chip 30m to a lead)

He doesn't pressure players away from the contest, no real effort in chasing and tackling either so what exactly does he do at an elite level? Long term Venables, Duggan, Cole and Rioli should be getting his minutes on the ball but in the short term I think it might be time to phase him out of the midfield rotation and either play a tagger in Hutch or play another big body in there like Ahchee.

Our football department give our first rounders years before they phase them out, possibly to make it seem less obvious they blew a high draft pick, so he'll probably play another 30 mediocre to shit games for us.
