Getting his hand's free in a tackle and being able to dish off a quality handball is something i've been impressed with thus far.

Most of our mids aren't able to do that.

Looked confident when he came on when the game was still in the balance. Needs full game time though. Cant stand this kid as a sub stuff.
Not sure why he's not getting a full game when McGinnity is.

Really liked the dummy he sold today, i was surprised when he did that as not many of our mids do.

Also looked a bit faster. Strange i saw more from him today as the sub then i have in all his previous games combined.

Glad we're continuing to play him

I was hard for anyone to look fast last week with such heavy soaked ground under feet . Lots of very good mids took a few years to have an impact especially in a contested role . Sheed will be fine and a solid edition to our club .

Seemed to be thinking less today, showed very good awareness, positioning and composure (other than those ridiculous shots on goal - think that silly "fringe" of his might be moving and distracting him!?!). Definitely need more time pumped into him and be given a fair crack in the middle.

Needs a sprint coach (gods what a wasteful running action) and some serious time in the weight room this off season.

I think he's suffering from the early symptoms of Jamie Bennell syndrome.

I just watched the 4th quarter and saw some encouraging signs from Sheed. His sidestep and dummy was good to see. Handballs were a positive too, good under pressure and well directed. If only he kicked those two gettable goals, but I'm sure he's building in confidence picking up possessions and contributing the way he did.

Yeah he kicks those two goals and it becomes a pretty good quarter of football as a sub

Dunno about his goalkicking as a strength.

28 games of WAFL (inc Colts) for 16.14. He also has a pretty erratic kicking action. Too much has been made of that one brilliant performance in last years champs.

Exactly, that was a bit of a special performance

Fair point. Although we had Ken Judge coaching, so that's not certain :p
I'd thank Ken for Judd if i though he tanked on purpose. Sadly he was trying to win.

That 2001 season though, Cousins was incredible. Looking back on the stats I would be surprised if we can find another team that had such a difference between it's leading ball winner and second place (maybe GAJ in the early GC seasons). http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/tr-west-coast-eagles?year=2001&rt=TA&st=DI

Some flog writing for the Herald Sun had this in an article....

ON THE BLOCK: Dom Sheed had another quiet week despite the big win but the Eagles need midfield depth so the coach may persist with the youngster. Josh Hill didn’t kick a goal in the impressive win but does provide spark when on song.

Bet he didn't even see the game or realise Dom was the Sub. Had a great impact for a sub player IMO. Especially since he is a young pup.

^^

There was a similar thing written when Eliot Yeo broke his hand. Something along the lines of "Yeo had a such a poor game and he was subbed early in the 3rd quarter. Position in the side will be under question"

Just face palm stuff
