Says more about our player development blokes as much as anything else IMO.

I think Sheed was genuinely improving but seems to have lost his way and may be struggling to buy into the areas that he has been told to work on ..Changing bad habits can be very hard to slip out of I suppose and the transition may be confusing him in the heat of battle leading to his loss of confidence..

One thing that Sheed had in juniors was his decision making was excellent because he was create time and space.
Now at AFL level he's that one step slower; against faster; stronger; bigger opposition that suddenly he doesn't have that time and space that he used to; and as a result you watch him grab the ball and basically get tackled straight away.

If he wants to be an inside mid; he needs to get stronger and stand up in tackles to get the arms free; or always be on the move.

Maybe Dom simply cannot comprehend what Sam Mitchell is trying to teach him and his game is slipping as a result? We see what happens when Mastens role is simplified. Dom should be challenged but if he can't deliver we probably need to accept he has hit his ceiling and return him to the basics.

Beat me to it.

Was going to say that Mitchell is the reason Sheed is playing shit - when Mitchell leaves we will see a big improvement in Sheed.

Therefore, Mitchell leaving is a good thing.

Nah I disagree lads. When Dom was playing decent footy at the start you could see Mitchell’s influence, he was actually able to shrug and buy him extra time to get a disposal out. Not sure what’s happened since his injury but he just cannot recapture his form :(

Here's hoping he's just having a one-off dog of a year, like Masten in 2017. He's got a massive summer coming up, I expect the likes Ainsworth, MAllen, and Brayshaw to be pushing hard for his spot. Maybe even Venables too if he's ready to play midfield.

Doms decision making has been shithouse of late. He appears slow and laconic in everything he does. He is either lacking in confidence or the game is getting too fast for him? Maybe both. I think he better shape up next year or he will find himself on the outer for a long time.

Definitely Sam Mitchell’s fault.

Dom dropped again is not a good sign. We are 2nd on the ladder at the business end of the season and Dom can't retain his spot. This is what you play for, son. Pull your finger out and tear the comp a new one. We can use you at your best come finals, get there.

Otherwise you'll be on the sidelines googling end of year hotels in HK while the boys fight it out without you.

It's pretty concerning, he should be about to enter his prime and instead he seems to be falling further and further off the pace. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think he's up to it, wouldn't surprise me to see him de-listed in 2 or 3 years.

A "one off dog year". Really?

Can you tell me when he's had a really good year?
I seriously doubt he's ever finished in the top 10 F&B.

Being dropped 3 times in a year
I reckon he's at the crossroads TBH.

No dramas with him being dropped for Shuey, really hope he strings some great games together for EP.

Was wrong to put him on the HFF and should have kept him as a prime time mid in the WAFL for his concentration on working to his strengths or improving his areas of weakness, whichever it is the coaches asked him to do.

It's all been downhill since he gave Rance the shake-and-bake in the game against Richmond. Personally I suspect Rance has been using his voodoo churchie powers to nefarious ends.
