The only thing that comes close to the feeling of elation when the siren went was the feeling of hope on remembering he's a left footer, followed by the joy of watching the ball sail through. Enjoy life Dom.

Will he remembered 100 years from now . Not many end a career with that in the bank

He left every ounce out there just like Gov. A shame he didn't get to 200 but you can't get it all your way sometimes .His impact is greater then that .

I Hope he is given a job with the Wafl team. Anyone who saw our WAFL team play when he was in it just saw the leader he was. He brings out the passion and work ethic in those around him . Hopefully this isn't goodbye and he stays around

For me, he provided the greatest single moment as an Eagle’s supporter. Ever

Still remember launching off the couch as the ball sailed through and screaming a “heck yeah” that would have been heard two suburbs away

Hard to believe he was still only 23 when he kicked that goal

He’s still only 30 now but has had what should have been the prime of his career obliterated by injury since the end of 2021 playing just 24 games across 4 years including 0 this year

His retirement is as sad as it was inevitable.

Enjoy the next phase of your life Dom - every Eagles’ supporter owes you at least one beer

If that kick was 2025 the AFL would have rigged snicko to hit the post to get the Pies over the line.

Thanks Dom, thank you!!
haha, the look on the collywobbles faces was almost as much enjoyment as "that" goal, will be forever remembered in WCE folklore

here here!

I think people did underestimate how smart of a player he was. Infact its why he kicked that goal. If you look at the behind the ground footage the second Gov marks that ball Sheed just bolts to that spot he took the mark in. He isnt looking to do anything but get further up the ground. Everyone else was basically wanting to impact the next contest. He was smart enough to know the contest that mattered and that is well the one up forward so made himself that option there

He was not a athlete in any way but managed to play wing + centre and got away with doing both at a high level even without the pace or the right side of the body. That was because of his football smarts and understanding. Its why I think he has a big future in coaching. Id love to see him in the WAFL showing the guys how to get in the right spots... just like he did when it mattered the most

Premiership player that undoubtedly kicked the winning goal, what dreams are made of.
Thanks for everything. Unfortunately, like so many WCE players lately, his career was cut short by at least 50 games due to injuries.
From a fellow Kalgoorlie boy, all the best for the future. You are a legend of the club.

An Eagle legend for life, even if he has a tiny tiny dog the size of my foot.

Dom Sheed is intresically linked in history for that kick. The hardest kick in football, if you don't mind.

Was also a very very handy player, lets not forget. Absolutely crueled by injury.

It's a shame his 2016 season was hit by injury, only his third season at that point. Was massive in 2015 during our rise to second.

Stagnated a bit, found some mojo at the right time in 2018, carried that to what was imo his career year in 2019 and into 2020 as well. 2021 he was meh, but then the injuries.

Shame we may never have gotten to see him at his best, or best for longer than one season (2019). Will forever be a legend with that goal though.

yep, Would love to see Sheed play WAFL for all the reasons you mentioned.

There's no way i'm believing you shouted 'Heck yeah' and not something else :p

The greatest thing I've ever experienced at the footy, was sitting about 15 rows back directly behind the goals as I watched the ball pass in front of one goal post and behind the other. The sheer joy, surrounding pandemonium and anticipation of winning was almost unbearable.
Thanks Dom, f*#ken legend.

That Kick was the single greatest moment in Eagles history:

Honoured to have sponsored a club great in his final season in the blue and gold, even if he didn't play a single game this year.
Funny bastard in his presser.

"That moment, to be able to impact and execute is something I think about..... every 5 minutes."

The goal and the celebration.

That is what I picture when I think of unbridled joy, the way you can't control the emotion, like involuntary arm movements and air punches.

Love it. Love Dom.

Wish we got to see more of him at his best, it's been a while since we've had any midfielder who has been injury free.
