Dom Sheed's Grand Final Winner - The Most clutch in AFL History

Remove this Banner Ad

From that angle, at that stage of the game with the premiership cup resting on his boot, ****en balls of steel.

The campaigner nailed the most clutch shot in AFL history. Come to think of it, one of the most clutch shots not just in AFL history, but sporting history.

Professional sportsman kicks a goal in a match after 1000's and 1000's of practice shots at training over the past 3-4 years.

Rightio then ……….

WTF is this thread for anyway ??

Lol at Abletts kick being more clutch than Sheeds! Scores were level and he marks the ball basically at the top of the square. Any score wins it, and would be almost impossible to not score. Little to no pressure at all. Sheed has to kick a goal to put us in front, a point is no good. Add in the fact he’s on the boundary and it’s a bloody grand final, it shits all over Abletts. What a ridiculous statement to claim Abletts was better.
Ablett's goal was so clutch he followed it up by being worst on ground the next week in the grand final

What about every other Grand Final winning goal? I'm not sure there is a scale of clutchness haha.
Also, basketball NFL, Penalty shootouts etc. have some pretty epic finishes under extreme pressure.

Sheed was amazingly good though under extreme pressure, but there was still game time after he kicked.

?

We are comparing it to other moments by professional sportsmen.

So exactly what is your point?

Sheed had been dropped three times during the season and only got back in due to Gaff's suspension. Had an below par home and away season but tied for best player in the finals at the Eagles. In the GF he racked up 32 possessions and ran hard all day. Not a noted goal kicker but an inside mid. In front of a hoard of screaming Pies supporters with 2 min to go slots one from the boundry 40m out.

And for some reason you dont rate rhe effort!

Obviously you are carrying some 'baggage' that has effected your thought processes.

exactly, by his logic none of ronaldo`s free kick goals are any good...or lebrons 3pt shots any good, because they practice those routines over and over. In fact wtf would be impressive???

You are actually serious? That's the disturbing thing.

What about every other Grand Final winning goal? which? name them? Better yet, name those that had that little time left in the game. Better still, from that angle. Unreal.

'' Also, basketball NFL, Penalty shootouts etc. have some pretty epic finishes under extreme pressure ''

haha yeah. As the post below yours states, the thread title speaks for itself. And we are talking football, those sports have nothing to do with this, or the thread title.

And in case you weren't aware, this is an AFL Footy forum:rolleyes:

unreal.

Lmao, your own OP referenced the most clutch in sporting history. You do realise sporting history includes other sports right?

I dont think any GFs have been decided after the siren, but there have been other close games and those also involved winning goals.

Unbelievable

Not winning goals to put the team in front though. Yes there’s been goals late in Grand Finals to extend a narrow lead to a match winning one but not to actually take the lead so late in a game.

Is there a decent call of this goal, BT is a Collingwood man and he couldn’t do the goal justice. Pay Cometti what he wants to do finals only.

I liked BT's call actually, especially compared to many of the radio commentators. He was the only one to get appropriate excited by Ryan's contested mark in the lead up.

Bruce was a bit flat when the final siren approached, almost like he rehearsed more for Collingwood winning.

Disagree on BTs call, listen to his tone on DeGoeys early 4th q goal, it should have been that.
