I am curious as to how some of these podcasts work. Does Don actually get paid for being a buffoon weekly or just being a buffoon for free?

Not sure if there is any money in it for Don but he comes across as a Neanderthal every week. Sam constantly takes the piss out of him

My (often repeated) opinion of Don Scott and Hawthorn:

1. Magnificent leader from 1967 to 1980, and for 2 months in late 1996;
2. Absolute nutcase in 1981, and thereafter, and at all other times.

My brother was a 16 years behind him at Blackburn High School: he confirms No 2 above.

I found the raising of this by Don particularly distasteful given the people named are now dead and cannot defend themselves or sue for defamation.
Strikes of a media unit doing anything they can to lift ratings and revenue after being sued.

Cannot believe that a guy that was at forefront of saving our great club from merging would stoop so low to kick us in the guts while we are already laying on the ground with our on field performances taking hits left right and centre.

It seems that you know a lot that went on so feel free to share with the rest of us. I would like to know exactly what is in all of this for Don by saying what he has said. Why wait until we are at our lowest point as a club performance wise on the field to say what he is saying now… attention, revenge, money???

Money is the root of all evil and some will throw their own family, people etc under the bus to get some. I wouldn't be surprised with the recent media agenda against us that Don is getting $$$ to start trouble.

The sponsors pay to have reads on their company/products during the podcast.

Sponsors won't go near a podcast until a reaches a benchmark of listeners. Wouldn't surprise if Don's trying to get the triggered Essendon & Carlton listeners who want 'inside' info on the Hawks.

Still bitter that his son got delisted, Obviously has had a grudge against the club for fair while. Has never really had any positive things to say about the club. Seems to only bob up when we in a bit of a trough

One of his predecessors,Phillip Ryan,became VFL's Commish for player payments.

Doubt Ronald Cook was involved either.
