Bunk at least admits that no body wants to come to Essendon because they are a shambles, he just defends them to the hilt and believes they should be "fairly compensated" for letting Ryder go given he still has 2 years left on his contract.

That Fishardansin fellow is a completely different kettle of fish (ardansin). When I think of him I think of Robert De Niro's character in the movie THE FAN.
Mate, Bunk is the one in the AFL forum saying that Port are making all these so called promises to Ryder and aren't coming to the party at the trade table, whilst Essendon are just an innocent party in all of this. He is as delusional as the rest of them.

That Fishardansin, well, he's certainly different. Anyone who thinks that Essendon are the ones negotiating in any good faith here have no idea.

They have all lost perspective. When people are part of a cult, they generally do.

That's it. Anyone not getting a game instantly loses value.
Not necessarily. In Newton's case, it may bump up his value.

We finished 3rd with many believing we should have been outright 2nd. Newton played 4 games, twice as sub and was an emergency 11 times during the season and twice during our finals campaign. By the end of it all, he was considered a top 25 player in the 3rd ranked team and was outstanding at SANFL level. He's also just started living up to his pre-draft rating now he's injury free with a couple of pre-seasons under his belt.

It's fairly obvious to most that he will struggle to get games when he's competing with Boak, Wines, Gray, Hartlett and Ebert.

At the very least he should command a pick in the 30's.

Several clubs interested in Newts.

I'm praying every night to the gods that he stays. I can't handle another TSW love child leaving #bass #webb #jacobs
Might say more about the players you're picking as your love child's. ;)

This is an open letter to the Bomber fans that have replied here and think that Patrick Ryder has betrayed their club.

By all accounts Ryder's reputation has been one of integrity and a team first approach. The indigenous culture is one based on connection to the land, then to the community, then the family and finally comes the individual. Look back at the television show "The recruit" when the indigenous player was named the captain and he had to decide who could be cut from the team. He chose himself. It was unfair to put him in that position because in his culture choosing to save himself means weakening the group. This would explain why Ryder was so popular within your club. Why does he feel betrayed though?

The reason why Ryder would go along with the supplements program is that he is part of a tribe (The Essendon Football team) and he would not say no while the majority of team is in support of the program. Again, his culture would have made it difficult to say no. When he found out that there were risks involved that could affect his family (however minute the risks are by your club's perspective), this is a clear violation of the rights as an indigenous person.

What the Essendon Footbal Club has done is fractured the connection between the land one one hand and the community and the individual on the other. While this may sound melodramatic it actually makes sense. Everything is connected in a hierarchy. If you take poison (this includes alcohol, sugar and tobacco which is a problem in all our communities as a whole) it interferes with your connection with the land and erodes communities, families and then the individual gets sick. I think this is a holistic way of looking at life and we could all learn a lot from this (I'm looking at you Hird).

The Indigenous program at Alberton apparently is very strong. This program, I am told, is not necessarily to help our indigenous community but for them to show us how to help ourselves at being a better club by keeping in touch with our community, respecting people around us and then respecting ourselves. This would go a long way to healing the pain that he may have felt over this program. You have to remember that he rightfully would have felt violated.

If you can't see why Ryder is upset I'll explain it this way. Your club gave him White man's poison so that they could further their needs and in doing so affected his family (this includes both parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, elders). They never said sorry, gave them proper counseling or tried to mitigate the damage in any way for his family.

This is caused by a complete lack of understanding of his culture. Perhaps we can use ethics and morality in this situation. No, the EFC club has stated that footy is a business so the need to win overrides ethics. The only thing left then is a clause regarding a duty of care.

If he can use white man's laws to get ethical justice....Why not?

My question to Bomber fans is....Is anyone of you outraged by Ryder's treatment because you need to speak out.

Here Here great post. Cheers. PS I suggest it should be printed in mass media.

For mine Newton to Gorringe is basically a straight swap that hopefully won't impact the Ryder deal or can be worked into it. Newtons value should only be marginally less than Gorringe. GC are going to lose value in Gorringe just like Adelaide did with McKernan if they don't move him now and then don't play him.

lol I want this trade to go through as much as anyone, but if we tried that line at the table GC would just tell us to go recruit McKernan if we wanted someone like him so badly.

Those two morons are case in point to a theory I have where there are some football supporters who take their devotion to the team to fundamental levels. Kind of like a sociopath supporter. Oblivious to reason or opinions that differ from their own. Unable to form opinions that are independent of their clubs and will blindly defend their cause like they are one of the 18 out on the field. Crazy keyboard warriors on a crusade, except they're proper crazy.

the problem with fishardsin (or whatever his name is) and bunk, is i reckon Dodoro is exactly as delusional (if he isnt one of them)
Don't think you will ever see Fish and Dodoro in a room at the same time and it's not like Dodoro doesn't have a lot of spare time on his hands.
