Our percentage could really hurt us!
The other teams contesting the top four have higher percentages and could knock us out of the top four.
Makes wins against hawks, bombers and westcoast more important to maintain our one more win.
We seem to play well enough to win but with such a tight season I think we need to hurt teams more.

Percentage won't come into it?
Only if we keep wining.
My finals nightmare
1 westcoast
2 bombers or hawks
3 Sydney or Adelaide
4 pies

Have to play westcoast in Perth twice in a month
If we lose having to play Geelong in the second week

When you are a premiership team (last couple of years for us)

It doesn't matter how much you win by...The other matches in the round doesn't matter...Other teams can win by 100 or lose by 100 and it won't bother us...

When your team is struggling, you look at other games results...other teams %...our draw ahead

Enjoy the moment...Based on the last couple of years, we have nothing to worry about until September

What was our % last season and last season we were thumping teams,I would love to have a healthy percentage but even better than having a huge percentage has been our ability to win the close games and I would take that every time.

I see it as a big thing to be challenged and to able to find a way to win,we also have had very little continuity in our teams in fact most weeks we have 3 or 4 changes and that does not help.

It's to be expected.

To see the draw we've had, it would have surprised most of us to see us in the actual top 4, let alone have a really high percentage.

We have a very hard run home with game against carlton geelong hawks eagles(away) swans(away) bombers to cum. I cannot see any blowouts against these teams. So games againts gws, roos we need to win big as well as saints if we can. Eagles and crows have a much easier run home so we will be competing with essedon swans and hawks for the last two spots in top 4 and they have a much bigger percentage than us and will be bigger by the end of tonight. I think it will cost us a top 4 spot. I cannot see us winning all games against top 8 sides and if we do, going into finals we will be on a 19 game winning streak which is highly unlikley.... percentage is going to hurt us

Oh yea of little faith, seriously we are little better than you think we are, have a little faith mate we have done alright so far and as far as the form line show,s although we have injuries we have been as consistent as anyone and I do not expect that stop.

I'd prefer to finish 2nd if we could choose it, tends to give the easier path to the GF if you win that first final. Certainly not worried about playing interstate, pressure is right on the home team then and we can lift for it.
Our form right now is perfect, we've got a lot to improve on, our senior team is slowly starting to get on the park together and we're winning in the mid part of the season without showing our best hand yet.
Good signs.

Besides the fact our year is quite difficult, i cant help but think we're holding back a bit, if only a little, that we're somewhat pacing ourselves. We seem to draw just enough blood to win, and i'm starting to think thats no coincidence.

I have plenty of faith in collingwood. And allways will. Just my view thats all. Our percentage wont be big enough!!! At the moment our percentage is the 5th best and if saints have a big win against roos today, it could be the 6th best out of teams in the 8. One slip up in the next four weeks and we will be sitting 5th...........by percentage. So it could and prob will hurt us later in year,

Absolutely right. Could very well be the difference between landing an all-important top 2 spot, and not. Really need WCE to slip up before our round 22 game to ensure we finish higher than them.

Hey O21 dont worry too much about percentage - we need 2 slip ups to be 5th (by percentage) - our percentage is 5% superior to Adelaide's at present and they would need to win by a sizable margin to squeeze past us. Even if we were to slip to 4th and meet Eagles away - i really rate our ability to travel.

I feel that our next two games may see us consolidating our best team - what we have proved this year is that the boys are fully switched on to the job at hand - even when at times not fielding our strongest available side!

No probs mate and I do appreciate what you are saying And I was not trying to be a smartarse but I do feel our form is good and we are traveling very well if we do not get any more serious injuries and we can continue to drip feed experienced players back in the side at the same time as having less experienced players keeping the pressure on for spots in the team all is well.

Ideally for me I would love to win the next 3 matches and looking at our opponents our form is at least the equal of any them and the focus of the coaches and Players is very good,to have played so many players and having so many changes on a week to week basis and be sitting where we are is a super effort.:thumbsu:

I agree with the notion that our percentage has to be expected when you look at our draw and who will double up on.

Our run home reads:

Carlton
Geelong
Hawthorn
GWS
StK
Sydney
North Melbourne
WCE
Essendon

How can you expect large percentage boosts when looking at that?

We've also played Hawthorn, Carlton, Essendon, Geelong, Adelaide and WCE already.

GWS and North will probably give us a spike in % but provided we keep on winning, it will have little effect on our overall season.

Who cares if we fall out of the top 4.

We'll just make history by winning the premiership, from outside the top 4.

Optimism for the win!
