Yeah, I remember listening to that..

My best mate's dad lived a couple of doors away and had a killer hi-fi set-up out the back of his place. He used to buy all of those Top 40 compilations and tons of 7" singles (Up There Cazaly, My Sharona, I Got You, etc…) Every Beatles album... Stones... Kiss... Best of Blondie…

After school most days, when nobody was home, we'd crank up his stereo and blast the neighbourhood.

My favourite of those comps were:

1981: The Sound
The Swingers - Counting The Beat
Split Enz - One Step Ahead
Madness - Baggy Trousers
Flowers - Walls
Jona Lewie - Stop The Cavalry
The Boomtown Rats - Banana Republic
Ian Dury And The Blockheads - I Want To Be Straight
Adam And The Ants - Young Parisians
AC/DC - Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution
Sheena Easton - 9 To 5
Dr. Hook - Girls Can Get It
Air Supply - Every Woman In The World
Juice Newton - Angel Of The Morning
Little River Band - Long Jumping Jeweller
John Farnham - Too Much Too Soon
Robert Palmer - Looking For Clues
Dire Straits - Tunnel Of Love
Cheetah - Spend The Night

1982: With A Bullet
J. Geils Band - Centerfold
Depeche Mode - Just Can't Get Enough
Pete Shelley - Homosapien
Olivia Newton-John - Make a Move on Me
Duran Duran - My Own Way
Split Enz- Dirty Creature
The Church - Almost With You
Diana Ross - Why Do Fools Fall In Love?
Tight Fit - The Lion Sleeps Tonight
Moving Pictures - What About Me
Kim Wilde - Cambodia
Mental As Anything - Berserk Warriors
The Stranglers - Golden Brown
Barry Manilow - Let's Hang On
Toni Basil - Mickey
Bill Wyman - Come Back Suzanne
Jo Kennedy - Body and Soul
Cliff Richard - Daddy's Home

1983 The Hot Ones
Billy Idol - White Wedding
Chris de Burgh - Don't Pay the Ferryman
Monte Video & the Cassettes - Shoop Shoop Diddy Wop Cumma Cumma Wang Dang
The Belle Stars - The Clapping Song
Madness - Our House
Thomas Dolby - She Blinded Me with Science
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five - The Message
Divinyls - Science Fiction
Skyhooks - Hooked on Hooks
Kajagoogoo - Too Shy
Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes - Up Where We Belong
Dennis Waterman - I Could Be So Good for You
Little River Band - The Other Guy
Joe Jackson - Steppin' Out
Supertramp - It's Raining Again
Chas & Dave - Ain't No Pleasing You

1982 Out Of The Blue was another great compilation from around that era.

Ulahoopski admitting they don't actually listen to everything.
Lies. Vicious lies. Always listen to every nom but this time it was to determine the minor placings. The fiver was an absolute gimme for mine. Now wipe that conclusion off your shoe

Lol, how appropriate, one of the dudes from Talking Heads looks like serial killer Richard Ramirez in the pic used for the psycho killer clip

LOL:D Good spot.

Wasn't Ramirez supposedly inspired by AC/DC to stalk & kill all those women?
Highway to Hell was his fav album. In particular, the last track..

I was actually amazed you didn't nom it for this round,

Stalker theme impending? I've got a ripper for that if it ever happens.

I went in sure of what I wanted but as I got closer to putting noms up, began to toss and turn over nominating that thing of beauty. Awesome song. AC/DC were great at the darker stuff, wish they done more of it.

Before he was caught he left an AC/DC hat at a scene. That's about it. Cue "AC/DC is devil worship killer music" outrage. Never mind here he is in a Jack Daniels shirt, but that was never demonised...

The length of the songs is more than the time inbetween you posting boted and the noms going up. :drunk:

Sheesh Smegness, some songs I'd already listened to (numerous times in life, and through the nom process) - that left 17 songs to listen to once noms hit the board. Voted straight after. Even had time to do another musical integrity tally.
