His dad was on SEN this morning saying that he'd be very suprised if he was given a game in the firsts in the next 1-2 years at the club.

His dad also said that Donohue didn't think he was good enough to play in the Falcons before he joined them.

At a little over 6 foot and apprently pretty quick he might be good cover for Hunts or Wojaks role in a year or two.

However like Kent he was 'scapegoated' when the going got tough...

You will find like any forward relying on supply Larry had his best seasons when we made finals...'76 and '78...funny how all of a sudden forwards are responsible for all the ills in the world one poor year to whenever is the next poor season for a side...
Speaking of Kent, anyone notice Richmond finished just above us last year, took Kent off our hands, and finished last this year while we ran off with the flag? :D Seems Kent was holding us back. :p

Getting back on topic, seems weird that we're pretty much exchanging one father/son for another. Good luck to young Adam though. Hope he takes the chance with both hands and turns out to be a good serviceable player at the very least. :thumbsu:

No one hold their breath please. I and many others who have watched him play believe he isn't AFL material. Has already developed physically and could only grow with muscle mass. He use to post on BigFooty regularly as "Buck2323" and started creating threads about himself. Heard him on the radio this morning and said the usual thing of "wish to play a senior game next year but I think they will develop me in the VFL".

However, good luck to him...

You and who whispers. Myself and many others would like too know why he is'nt AFL material. I don't think how he spoke on the radio is a reason why he won't make it.

give him a break, i bet he wasn't the only young teen full of himself to post something stupid on BF. People change and only time will tell to see how he goes, all the best.

Lets just have a look at what we have agreed to here. A bottom aged kid with a bit of promise , that has been judged by better people than us as being worthy of being in the train squad for Vic Country. For this we will use a very late pick that is hardly a super risk.

Is he outstanding , No , thats why no other club bid on him. If he was obviously in the best 20-40 kids they would have as some one did with Daniher. Next year he may well have developed and be better so to pick him this year is tactically smart. Put him in our system and lets see how good he can get.The bidding system has one thing going for it. That if he does really come along just like Gary or Scarlo , there can be no moaning about bargains.

Really this year has not really proved the worth of the new bidding system. 3 Father Sons , two not outstanding and a third who was worth around about what he would have cost in the previous system. The real test will be the next time there is a Hawkins or a Murphy. I can not see any advantage to them being dominant at the U18 level. Hawkins was probably around P20 ish before the Camps ,he hadn't played a heap of of TAC there was questions on his size contributing to his performance. After the Champs he was #1 or close to it. Surely a club that has no problems not winning 11 games in a row , will have no issues with telling a kid to play doggo.

So for mine the jury's out till the next gun FS comes up and we see how it pans out.

Wtf? I just looked him up, the only thread he ever created was asking if everyone thought Geelong looked the goods in 2007, and the only two posts he ever made about himself (as far as I can tell) are here and here:

buck2323 said:
this kid isnt that good so i think we should settle down a bit
buck2323 said:
i think we should keep quiet about mr donohue he isnt that good and his old man is why people say his better than what he is!
