at least jolly's proven, and geez, can we move on from the 06 GF, he had a bad one, let's cut the crap regarding his family
who are port gonna blame for their having 18 or 19 bad ones last month?
fact is, jolly was a key part of our 05 flag run, and has earned a right to negotiate his fee
wood is unproven and obviously wasn't regarded highly enough by his own club

i'll say it again: we are far FAR more likely to get back towards another GF with jolly in the team, but NOT if we'd let jolly go and kept schneider
Jason Ball was the key to 05 mate!

yeah, he was
but considering there was no jason ball in 2006, jolly did a damn good job getting us all the way to the grand final.
do you think we would've gotten that far if we only had doyle?

He might have been ok but Cox smashed him in the Gf and Guy Richards did in the elimination final. I know he's ok but my argument is he's not worth the money he's getting and he should feel bad for taking it! There's only 3 blokes that could have asked for a pay rise after this year Kirk Goodes and Malcheski!

I have a feeling that Malceski did get a pay rise this year.

like to see hitouts to advantage per game either way he's not a 500,000 ruckman anyone else agree?
You got PROOF that he is on $500,000 per season or are you just pulling a random figure out of the air to stir up trouble???

Yes he is on a 4 year contract, but Jolly's re-signing had nothing to do with the trading of Schnider or Dempster. Because if it did, we a wouldn't of re-signed Jude Bolton for more money and we wouldn't of traded for Marty Mattner and Henry Playfair.

The crap over the trading period has been so overblown. No one knows the truth and is just either repeating rumors or making stuff up. No using logic and more interest in playing blame games because an underperformer got traded.

Hell I really wonder what would happen if a REALLY GOOD PLAYER got traded?

Seeing as your the one doing all the crying over Schneider, maybe we can delist you and St Kilda can pick you up in the PSD as a favour for Ross.

Same way you should known about it (BTW there has been a thread up on this board about the subject with the link and quote for a few day now). Important information bolded for you benefit.

http://realfooty.com.au/news/news/trade-bait-retained/2007/10/17/1192300859498.html

Bolton was made available if a first-round pick was forthcoming. When nibbles at that price didn't eventuate, the Swans said Bolton would remain with them... they made sure Bolton fronted up next year with an increase in financial terms to ensure he did not take his chances in the pre-season draft.
So I'm not making up wild claim's, I'm using a statement to back my claim, you haven't.

Yeah ok you win but for ****s sake another average player getting more money!
But if we had the salary cap troubles suggested by some, would be re-signing Jude for more money and bringing in Mattner and Playfair?? The salary cap hit those three bring (Playfair, Mattner and Jude's extra income) would be more than the salary going out from Schneider and Dempster.

So salary cap room was an excuse used, but not the reason.

I'd suggest Dempster went because Mattner joined the club and would of been 4th behind Kennelly, Malceski and Mattner and with Laidlaw ready to replace him.

Schneider was moved on because he wasn't a Key Position forward, wasn't a true midfielder and wasn't a tall flanker. So didn't fit team needs, was tradeable and could get us a 2nd Round Pick in return.

personally I think Dempster was a weak link probally would have been delisted but thats just my opinion.

I doubt that, because of his position in the senior squad at the end of the season. But getting Mattner made him tradeable and Roos moved him on to allow Laidlaw to room grow into the senior side.

Jason Ball was the key to 05 mate!
jason ball received enormous help from darren jolly
OR darren jolly received enormous help from jason ball
the two formed a premiership-winning ruck combination - if you want to keep denying that, that's your opinion
WITHOUT jason ball the following season, and with no replacement of similar ability to ball, we lost a GF by one point despite all the individual problems on and off-field jolly had, which suggests jolly is a very important player to the swans
