Well the rodent and the GG (don't know his name, looks like a war memorial statue made in the 50's) are praying for the victims of the train derailment in FNQ. Will somebody tell the rodent and friends we are not biblebashing hipocrites in this country unlike the 56,000,000 inbreds in the US, so don't pray to god, have faith in the medical teams on site. The recovery of these victims has nothing to do with praying to your god it is in the hands of the Doctors and Nurses, the old argument is 'if there was a god this wouldn't have happened'. As that great philosopher Homer Simpson says it is "just a whole bunch of stuff that happens". The rodent and his likeminded(Abbott,GG etc) can go to church if they choose but DO NOT put their christian beliefs on the people of this country because I for one do not want to hear it.

Unfortunately you live in a christian based society. Would you goto a predominantly muslim based society, and then complain because people were praying around you?

Mind you, if you dont like it, just laugh and point at the people abasing themselves before a deity they dont know exists.

Stop being a tool. It's just a way of saying that he is hoping that injuries are limited and everyone will be ok. I would have preferred him to use words such as 'my thoughts are with them' but it isn't like it really matters.

bullshyte, the rodent and maggott abbott are trying to push christian rubbish on this society. Trying to make our society a carbon copy of the US, the maggott being the good little catholic he is is trying to stop abortions, as they are in the US. The trouble is in the next breath he will slander all the single mothers collecting welfare, hipocrites the lot of them

Abbott yes, Howard no. Get your facts right and please refrain from making crap up.

Howard's too smart to let his religious beliefs show out too much. He plays the game well - doesn't offend non religious people much whilst still keeping all the churchies on his side.

Abbott's to far brainwashed to understand this. He just wants to force his morals on the rest of society because he is in no doubt that it is the right way to go (he's wrong).

People are free to pray to whoever they want, for whoever they want. So long as they're not forcing you to do the same I see no point in getting upset about it. People get prickly and irrational too easily whenever religion is mentioned.

Unfortunately, then they laugh back at the people failing to abase themselves before a deity they don't know doesn't exist. Then you get the Inquisition.

If people want to pray, then let them. After all, what harm can a prayer do?

Calm down. They are praying for the victims. They are not forcing Christianity on them.

Because the Jewish/christian/ muslim religions are crap based on the same wrong assumptions and all come from the same root.
Apart from that I dont want people praying on my behalf to ANY fake "god".
FFS can they keep their bastard religions out of our politics and parliament?
As far as Im concerned (and Im a Labor supporter) Latham lost me today by grovelling to religion by attending a christian service,.
I dont care if the other grovelling WASPs like Howard and the GG want to be hypocrites but for someone like Latham who says he is an athiest then thats just total hypocracy.

Politicians have to do such things (appease religious groups - and all sorts of other groups). Latham can't afford to alientate these people no matter how pathetic they are.

How anyone can get offended when someone with faith "prays" to their god for them is beyond me. I don't care if it is Christian God, Allah, or the great spirit of the mountains, I'd appreciate the thought.

Michael Jeffrey, former Governor of Western Australia, and yes, ex-military. Very safe choice after the Hollingworth debacle. Always thought he was OK as WA Governor, and seems capable enough as GG.

Would be interesting to hear what comments there would be if a Muslim Iman was trackside reciting ''INSHA ALLAH''?

I dont agree with Religion and State coming together...but if its a personal belief no biggy.. Are politicians forcing religion on us by praying trackside? I wouldnt have thought so if it was a personal wish for better health and the person delivering the wish had faith.

Old joke but a good one... '' when someone wins a Grammy and thanks god ..how come you never hear the losers blame god?''

''F*** you god you made me lose''

How about if the dude utilised the term "feel compassion for" instead of the religiously orientated "pray"?

Eitherway, the only thing worth praying for at this point in time is the Hovercar. It's well overdue!
