Why is everything governed so much on a public forum.....

Simply put. Too many people out there take this forum too seriously. Take to heart what someone else posts about them or a topic in general. Personally, I couldn't give a toss if someone else has a shot at me, makes fun of me, thinks I'm Dill and a Doe. Because when it's all said and done. It means rot.

At one level, I agree with you, but at another I wonder if this extreme libertarian view doesn't mean the worst kind of anarchism.

It's basically about social mores and norms, and just the articulation of what we regard as decent behaviour towards others. What's wrong with that? (Is it okay for opposition posters to come on and troll or to slag our club, for example?)

Despite the anonymity of the internet, there are real people behind the posts with real feelings. I don't think we need to coddle, but equally an attitude of 'anything goes' isn't functional, surely?

Wellsfan is having a whinge because one of his threads was deleted/locked. The thread's title alone singled out one of our posters. It should have been a case of no harm, no foul, but Wellsfan wants to continue it here.

Let him get it out of his system and then rejoin the normal folk.

By the way, wellsfan, I have no beef with you. Just the wording of your thread was iffy and could very easily be misconstrued. Lessons for all, 'eh?
