We will be back...those of u discounting us and writing us off, do so at ur on peril.

We are too good a team to not make the finals this year, we will make the finals and we will have a damm good crack at it.

We have to adjust our game plan and i think we will, and when we get back some of our key players we will be one of the premiership favourites.

U want reasons?

Gary Ablett - one of the best small forward/midfielders
M Scarlett - the best in the business
J Corey - a hionest hardworking midfielder
J Bartel - a super player who will do well in the brownlow
S Johnson - creative player
P Chapman - tought hard midfilder
D Wiojinki - one of the speediest players who has a booming kick
C Mooney - the big hairy cat is a toguh player who makes a big impact in the forward line
B Ottens - a star player who will maek his mark this year
M Rooke - one of the best taggers in the competition

GO CATS!
And now for the unbiased version:

Gary Ablett - Pretty good - wish he would get fitter though.

M Scarlett - Great FB

J Corey - Overrated. Butchers the ball at will.

J Bartel - Gun

S Johnson - Undisciplined, lazy footballer who is on his last chance

P Chapman - Gun

D Wojcinski - Good pace, average kick.

C Mooney - A solid forward who is contributing well.

B Ottens - An honest ruckman who is a good pinch hitter down forward.
Could improve via running out games better.

M Rooke - 2007 is a write-off. No pre-season and yet to play a senior game, with more weeks on the sidelines expected.

It would be interesting to see the assessment of one P Chapman. He thinks the list lacks a fair chunk of heart.

Doesn't sound like he's very popular down there either, he wasn't voted into the leadership group. WTF is the coach doing?? Appoint him el capitan, pronto with Scarlett as V/c and they can smack around those they think are bludging

Scarlett is one of the bludgers. His attitude hasn't been all that fantastic recently, from all accounts, and his body language speaks volumes at times.

just took a visit to Bay13 (geez its a struggle to get down to its new geographical location :/ ....five mouse wheel rolls instead of a simple click)

if they're two different ppl....its pretty amazing that they've made the same typo with threads that have basically the same title >,>

geelongians don't know the difference between of and off? or something else more sinister o.o;

Now for an honest geelong supporters assessment

Gary Ablett - good small foward/midfielder, played out of position too much.
M Scarlett - Was once the best in the buisness, now doesnt care and has dropped off dramatically.
J Corey - one paced, cant kick midfielder
J Bartel - good player, good mark.
S Johnson - ... Creative player, hardly a match winner.
P Chapman - tough hard, tells it how it is.
D Wiojinki - Shining light so far this year.
C Mooney - the big hairy cat is a toguh player who drops too many easy chest marks and misses critically goals whilst going missing during periods of the game.
B Ottens - A dud.
M Rooke - one of the best taggers in the competition, whos hamstrung

Some points of contention:

Yes, that long-term injury list of BOTH joel reynolds AND tom lonergan must be absolutely crippling. It's a miracle you can field a team! If only you could be as lucky as, say, St Kilda or Adelaide.

M Scarlett - the best in the business
Except, of course, for Ben Rutten, Darren Glass, Dustin Fletcher, James Clement and Joel Bowden.

J Corey - a hionest hardworking midfielder
whose picture appears under the Webster's Dictionary definition of "clanger"

J Bartel - a super player who will do well in the brownlow
Symptomatic of the Geelong list: looks a million bucks against poor opposition. Vanishes when the pressure is on.

S Johnson - creative player
Not to mention drunkard with a criminal record.

D Wiojinki - one of the speediest players who has a booming kick
with an uncanny ability to avoid the sherrin - averages 11 possessions over 9 seasons.

C Mooney - the big hairy cat is a toguh player who makes a big impact in the forward line
You seem to be confusing "tough" with "courageous". He can sucker punch all the forward pockets he wants to, but how often does he back into a pack, put his head over the ball...

B Ottens - a star player who will maek his mark this year
after failing to make any mark whatsoever last year, the year before that... in fact any year since 2001.

You'd be one of those supporters who claps the boys off after a respectable loss, am I right?

Jimmy has played well this year even in the losses.
S Johnson you only have to look at Collingwood for criminal records.
ottens may be a dud but still is miles better then josh f.
You must be one of those collingwood supporters who think you could finish in the eight.

Gary Ablett - Good creative player, needs good players around him to work with and take the focus off himself.
M Scarlett - Does his job.
J Corey - Gets heaps of it but doesn't hurt sides.
J Bartel - Growing into an elite player in the comp. Don't understand y he isnt in the leadership group.
S Johnson - Does freaky things, but butchers the basics.
P Chapman - Has managed to improve his contested possession rate, but am i the only 1 who thinks he runs forward of the ball too much and doesn't do enough defensively? Will not man up, and lets his opponent get easy kicks. Good to see him being critical of his opponents but would like to see him put his hand up and try working the other way.
D Wojinski - Great pace, great kick, needs more of the footy tho in areas of the ground that will damage other sides...
C Mooney - Has a crack and can play good footy, but too easily put off his game.
B Ottens - Could be anything, but will end up being nothing when it counts.
M Rooke - At least he got a kick when his name was jarrod.

I feel for ya mate, i really do the fact is geelong in 2007 is b-grade top 8 at BEST.

Cats have some GOOD players but what im saying is apart from Ablett and Scarlett (on his day) they dont feature in the BEST!!!

No ruckman as King is gone physically. Harley is the weakest player in the comp mentally and he is your god damn captain. Chapman should be captain. There are too many things wrong down at catland.

THE GOOD NEWS IS come 2010 I think you'll be a REAL force with Abletts, Hawkins up forward Selwood and others in midfield hopefully by then get a ruckman and a decent CHB maybe get mooney to CHB to learn. But yeah seriously CATS in 2010 will be scary VERY scary. 2007... not so scary.

G.Ablett Jnr is brilliant great to watch.

WHAT ID DO

Massive clean out
Ottens, King, Harley and the coach, anyone over 32 also MUST GO. You are not going to feature in finals greatly this year or the next. Work on new strucyures picking up a ruckman and CHB. Get the speed which you have upto afl SKILL level and watch the good times roll in 2010. Seriously do this NOW and the cats would be unstoppable BUT YOU WONT. Thompson will go on, king and Ottens will play preventing real blooding of the youngsters. Theyll continue to flood forardline with Hawkins, Nathan and Mooney who needs 3 full forwards?? Theyll stick with Harley because he has muscles forgetting the fact he NEVER goes hard at the contest relys on his size. god damn they are frustrating and i dont even barrack for them.

Leadership has been a problem for some time - the current Captain, Tom Harley, is great but has been injured since Round 1 - the rest of the leaadership group are not the real leaders - like Chapman. I don't think they can continue to ignore him. And Scarlett should also be in it. Chappy has hit the nail on the head - and has articulated what they did not want to hear. Ironically, he was previously referred to as being inarticulate!!!

Geelong arn't a bad side, they just have no game breakers, all of the team bar 2 -3 are just average joes. They have no heart. The catters cost me a very big multi :-( If they played with passion and spirit from now on, I suppose they *could* scrape in a bottom of the top 8. Maybe.
