Need all that cash to pay for the bulldogs membership now and will be flying her over to watch a bulldogs game any suggestions and not the eagles as I don't want her to cry when certain ex teammates try to take doogs out

Now that just plain mean this is a place of doog worship there is no way he would be forced to play in the twos

Seriously though would like to take her to a match at the G but most of the bulldogs games are at the dome

Round 5 has Tigers vs Eagles @ MCG on Saturday and Hawks vs Dogs @ MCG on Sunday.

Doogs impressed me last night. Took a couple of great marks and kicked a goal. The only thing i have to criticise him about is his decision making, when he got the ball he just bombed it down the lines to a contest and more often the not it was a turnover. He had a great 1st half but didnt standut in the second.

Overall id rate him a 6.5/10 for his performance last night.

McDougall was a player who suffered from poor decision making and execution from the midfield last night. They often didn't see him/ignored him when he presented. It was a bit frustrating, but nevertheless, I think he certainly impressed again. He is extremely athletic and mobile. I didn't realise he was that mobile, he caught a number of players with good chase downs.

That for me was the most pleasing thing. His second efforts, 1%ers were first rate. He's a strong mark and a very good presenter to the ball. His kicking/decision making needs a bit of work, but I think he's a good player and will fit in nicely to our Round 1 line-up.

No doubt he'll benefit from having better players around him (Johnson, Darcy, Akermanis, Griffen, Cooney, Murphy) and when the side is playing well and delivering the ball properly.

He presented a bit like Tarrant, in the sense he lead from about the 30m area to the 60/65m area a few times.

He played pretty much the role I was hoping he could play for us: big fast mobile CHF willing to have a go. His disposal needs work but last night wasn't a good opportunity for fine-tuning. The big bomb will work better when the ball comes in faster and we have Darcy on the end of it, as well as guys like Murph and Johnno who can take contested marks because of their superior judgment. (Murph can actually make a contested mark look uncontested by subtle positioning.) The other two options—handball to a runner coming past and short pass to a better kick—were not often options last night. The players around him were feeling their way and not presenting while the run from the midfield was more of a canter. I'm sure Eade will work more on the forward structure as players return over the next couple of weeks.

Doogs has continued to impress and his tackling was excellent. I can't actually recall any Brisbane players actually getting free from his tackles.
As indicated by Borgy and Wind Sock, his decision making and disposal does need to improve but it will come when all our experienced players are back on the field. He is presenting well in the forward line, which were were lacking last year when Murphy was injured.

Can anyone at the game confirm if Doogs spent the majority of the game in the forward line? I noticed on tv that he picked up quite a few possessions across the half backline and I couldn't always site him when the ball went forward, although it was evident that Eade was making alot of changes throughout the game with all players having a spell on the bench.

Just watched a replay on Fox and his tackling was good I don't remember hime ever tackling like that at the eags
His tackling and second efforts were exemplary on Friday. Very impressed by that. Decision making wasn't always the best, but still a great effort.

Let's see him carry it through to Rd1, he certaintly has done very well so far and done as much as I had hoped, he should continue to get better too.

As WindSock said, I think he'll look much better with the likes of Johnson, Murphy, Darcy, Cooney and Akermanis in the forward line to work off his kick into the F50. He led well, took grabs when he had to. His goal kicking looked a little suspect to me, but not many others were kicking goals so I couldn't fault him too much. Been very promising so far, and looks like we have done well out of the trade.

One thing thats impressed me is that he appears to be very good pick up off the ground after poor delivery. I'm only half way through last nights game on video but watched all of last weeks and he just seems very clean when ball is delivered poorly to about 1m in front of his feet.

yes he is a gun thats why i sponser him and cant wait for him to dominate our forward line in season 2007. ive met him a few times he is a great bloke to speak to very honest bloke. go dooooooooogs

I think the culture at the bulldogs will suit doogs better than at the eagles were he didn't really fit in with the boys as one poster has already stated it was well known that Gardnier had a serious vendetta against him

Doogs should have asked Danny Southern to respond on his behalf.

McDougall did OK on Friday night when he was the #1 forward. He was getting a lot of attention from the Lions defenders who blocked his run at the ball.

Once we get to Round One opposition coaches have more to think about.....Do they concentrate on Doogs?

If they do Johnno, Murphy, Acker, Robbo, Gia, Coons or Darcy will be free. To me if they do concerntrate on Doogs, then the other guys are more free.

If they put backman #4 #5 or #6 on him then he will have a lot more impact.

I thought he seemed very enthusiastic, and presented well to the ball, tackled and chased. He needs to keep doing that even if things dont go his way. I now believe he will be a better contributor than Bandy when he was at his best.

I am not ready to sign up yet, but given we downgraded a 3rd round pick for him, how many games would he have to play at the Bulldogs to be ragarded as good value?

5 senior games this year? 10 next year? Anything above this and you'd have to say we won on the trade?

I think we got the player we wanted to get in the third round anyway, so you could argue that all he cost us was demoting Michael West to the rookie list, in which case, the excitement created by this thread alone means we are probably already ahead. :)

In the 2 NAB games I've seen I'd say he'll be alright, He's relatively big, fit, and can take a mark. I never really noticed him play with the eagles so I had no pre-conceived ideas of him. I'm not sure how he'll go with our structure though, I actually thought our small setup worked well most times, it was just missing that big body for the quick long kick to the goal square (Darcy). Apparently that's not doogs style he's more of a leading player so you'd think he'd play CHF, I'd probabaly rather Murph in that role cause he is all class. I noticed Doogs leading right up the ground deep into defence, which I was impressed with, I think that he could really have an impact getting back to help out Granty when needed. He seems hard enough to play CHF but I haven't been impressed with the long bombs forward to no one in particular.
