People may think Aka getting the middle chair on TFS is the omen that we were going to win.... News for the doubters, its the inclusion of 'The Peoples Champion'that marks this game in the win colomn.

Will kick 3.2 and star. Mark it down.
Well unless his kicking has improved while at the Bulldogs it is more likely to be 1.3 and one out of bounds !

ooooh.... as much as I want this to work, I can't help but wonder if this is how meetings of the DLP sounded...

I was sitting near the players at last Sunday's game in aisle 19 of the Dome and couldn't help but notice McDougall. Not sure if anyone else saw him but he was there in his hollywood sunnies looking very much like a pretty boy.

Now not to bag the guy, but I couldn't help but think this bloke can't be the aggressive and or asertive CHF that we need. He looked to pre-occupied in himself to offer us anything other than the odd flashy bit of brilliance here and there.

Just thought it was worth noting. I have my fingers crossed he starts to click and maybe tomorrow can be the first stage of that.

McDoug's - bringing a little bit of hollywood to the scray - do we need it? I guess we'll find out over the next season and a half...

Unlike so many of todays modern footballers with their oh so macho clothing companies, juice bars and renovated pubs that serve $7 imported pots. If only off the field he projected the manly down to earth image of a Nick Riewoldt then maybe he would play like him on the field.
I'm afraid those days are gone my friend. Check out Jordy McMahon being interviewed about massage and facials. And the boys in the Peter Jackson ads didn't exactly look like it was their one bag of fruit for court dates, Fred Cook style.

On another point, apparently all flights into Canberra are booked out and Doogs is now the preferred PM in polling ahead of Rudd and Howard. It's only a few backward WA voters holding him back. First man to win the Brownlow, Coleman and an election in one year perhaps, despite coming from a long way back in each...:D

Days are gone? Scott West (landscape gardiner) might disagree.

Brian Harris, who works behind a bar in his downtime, would definately disagree.

doesnt need to be aggressive - just needs to be sharp and work his arse off. would you call murph aggressive?

McDougall needs to get aggressive at the footy... I'd say Rob Murphy is definetly this. When he attacks the footy he persists and its his # 1 priority in the contest. It's just that he has so much class when he does it he doesnt need to bash and crash players just to do it.

Agression at the footy is paramount for a CHF. Guys like J. Brown and Hall just have the added bonus of being intimidating.

If McDougs can make this part of his game consistent, I think he'll play a lot more matches in the ones.:thumbsu:

As I suspected it was a marketing ploy, a successful one as the game sold out. Maybe a Doogs motorcade pre-game may have fired the boys up, they were obviously so distraught that Doogs was used as a decoy that they just couldn't bring themselves to play football.

Next week Power, Faulkner, Addison, Street, Giansiracusa, Ray out.

Is Landscape Gardiner related to Michael.

Anyway Jamie Dury is a gardner, not a real hard man's occupation.
Nobody works on the wharves anymore, or down the markets.
Brian works in the Doggies social club bar, hardly a pub in Port Melbourne in the 70's.

Doogs wearing Hollywood sunnies off the field doesn't necessarily reflect his onfield, especially these days, is I suppose the point I was trying to make.

BS. Just because people that do it enjoy what they are doing doesn't mean it isn't hard.
Sweat more in gardening than most other jobs. So easy shoveling mulch all day in 35 degree temperatures.
Besides Jamie Dury is a garden show presenter not a gardener.
Tell us what you do for a living?

I agree.

I would have been a lot happier had he been unshaven, wearing a navy singlet with a tin in one hand, a bunger in the other and faarting a lot.

They would have been the signs of a champion in the making.

Ummm... manual labour (as in landscape gardening) is far more taxing than the 25-30 hour weeks down on the wharves (have mates who work there).

This may have been covered elsewhere but I can't be buggered scrolling through pages and pages of drivel.

What happened to Doogs yesterday?
He was named to play - I was hoping to see him in the side.

He was all set to play, but after reading some of the posts on BF he decided an image refresher was a more important need. Word on the street from Canberra is he was seen in Target buying a bluey, a carton of **** and went to the barbers - not the hairdressers - for a freshly shaven mullet.

Surely all ingredients for a dead set champ right there...

Bring it on Macca - he's no longer known as Doogs either!

Six spectacular goals from the great man yesterday.

Bring him back Eade!
Ah, yes the Droogs can't see the wood for the trees.

Doogs' best pieces of play were his second efforts once the ball hit the ground (along with his goal accuracy) which were AFL standard (his marking was against a smaller opponent). If he does get a call up next week (surely he'd be close) it will be for these efforts and not exploiting an obvious advantage.

In all seriousness that's what I was most impressed with. Showed great agility for a big guy when the ball hit the ground.

... which suits our style of play perfectly. With a mobile big man like that we could play a monster in the "Adam Morgan" type role, just bring the ball to ground or attract another tall backman.

Darcy, Minson, Street & Skipper could all do it. Would be prepared to sacrifice Robbins & Power to allow Doogs & perhaps Minson into the side.

Either way, Doogs should be playing AFL next week.

Rocco,

Was watching the Werribee game last week and after Doogs kicked 4 in the 1st quarter he was taken from the ground....what was all that about??

Was it intentional to keep Doogs from attracting too much attention from opposition clubs??

Is he going to be our "secret weapon" and help us to the flag and save the world from global warming?

I think he can do both!!

they didn't want to use up all his mojo!

i think it was a rotation policy with him, skipper, pods and barham.

besides they were playing are very weak casey side.
