I don't think asthma puffers can boost a person above a normal person's capacity meaning that they don't give you an advantage if you're a normal person.
But if you're not an asthma sufferer, using Salbutamol can give you an advantage. Chronic asthma sufferers actually need a TUE to be able to use Ventolin to the degree they need, as what they need is over the legal limit.

No they don't. WADA allows up to 1600mcg a day of salbutamol now, which is quite a large dose. I mean unless you're having an attack at the time in which case you're probably not up to competing, you wouldn't usually have to use that much.

Ok not being an asthma sufferer I've never looked into dosage, but I was under the impression that some people, Chris Froome being one, had a TUE in place for Salbutamol, hence why he was so open in using his puffer on stages, specifically on climbs.

Edit, wow, that's a long sentence!

Yeah, that's possible in an event like cycling over 5 hours or whatever. I use ventolin (salbutamol) when running (as I'm asthmatic), and I don't think I've ever had to take more than 14 puffs if I'm racing, but that is an event which goes <30 minutes

Lol at question Nibali. Was a National Junior champion and had always been seen since early days with Liquigas as being immensely talented and a future GT winner. Compared to Froome who appeared from ashes essentially.

Nibali is at peak age and riding incredibly well.

Nibali is just destroying them.

Yes it's good dope but he has had the talent all along. If it was just dope he would be back with Porte.

It's all catching up with Porte now. Has pushed his body too far. Dope can only do so much for the untalented.

Just finished watching Pantani doco..

His speed up mountains was phenomenal. Albeit doped to the eyeballs. The one thing I didn't like about the doco was the quasi painting of MP as the victim. He was a grown man making his own life decisions.

Still shaking my head that cyclists slept with heart rate monitors in case they died, had to get up at midnight to sycle and get their heart rate back up... Crazy stuff

No they don't.

I'd have to agree with this, use EPO now and you will get caught very quickly, even using a micro dosing schedule. EPO tests are extremely sensitive nowdays, however I don't doubt it's still used in lower grade races were testing is very limited.

lol you can't test for EPO.

lol you can't test for EPO.

You sure?

At the end of the doco they stated that the french retrospectively checked the samples from 1998 for EPO and in 2013 released the results (showing Pantani as +ve).

How would they be able to do that if their wasn't a test?
