Used to play Dota myself, have been playing Hon since early beta.

Pretty excited about Dota2, but the constant delays are making me worried. Don't want it to turn out like Duke Nukem and just dissapoint everyone. Will probably still buy it though.

I heard the community was the pits, with little patience for new players. I'll definitely give it a shot when DOTA 2 releases.

The community is abysmal. Imagine the worst shit-talking you've ever received in a game and multiply it by 10 and imagine it coming from your team-mate and the opposition at the same time

There are steps to improve the community in the form of "mentor" roles and a rep system that can enable you to play the game for free if you are liked well enough. Not sure how it will be implemented, but I'm assuming it will be a F2P game and having high enough rep and helping the newbies by mentoring them will give you "points" to spend on some online store or something. See how it pans out.

played RoC DoTA back in the day but never liked the Frozen Throne versions like DoTA All-Stars, although I hear that much has changed since 2004

DOTA is by far better then LoL and HoN!

Only drawback, is it is very hard to get to full complete games/no noobs on the Blizzard Servers.

I use Bored Aussie Server for all my DOTA and is 100x better then the normal Bnet Servers. (Plus the new switch player feature in game has made a huge difference in games finishing and being even.

I still play today and play a couple of times a week so if someone wants to DOTA me on Bored Aussie. PM me.

Ah Dbz tribute, I made many a nerd cry in that game when I stole their hard earned creep chains. Power leveling android 19 quick and nuclear bombing nerds you come across before they even got to level 30 was epic.

camon mate dota 2 is just a stop gap until Diablo 3 is released, once that comes out I'll be surprised if it doesnt cream the profit margin of dota 2 one thousand fold.
