Geez, that’s a fair difference in times. You shouldn’t be able to give guys nearly a 2 minute head start in a 2km time trial and run them down!

The main combine is run over 4 days to allow for recovery after events and allow the 80+ guys to get through each test plus all the other medical, psychological, physical and psychomotor testing.
The 2km time trial is on the last day.

The state testing and the injury recruiter testing is all done on one day, so mental and physical fatigue is likely to set in if you are completing a 2km run after doing sprints, jumps, kicking, yoyo, agility over the course of a few hours. If there are only 4 guys at the post injury test, then the gap between each test would be quite short.

During the 2km run at the main combine, I believe they also sort them into 7 groups based on height and position, so you have a group about 12 of similar pacemakers to push you along. Chayce Jones was leading his group, and Kennerley chased him down and finished on top by 1 second.

With his run, Fog was the fastest out of the 4, he had no one running in front of him to drive him to run faster. Hard for non-elite runners to set a proper pace, especially at the end of a long day of testing. Would have been interesting to see if they had someone the standard of Jones with them, whether for the 1st km he would have dragged the group along faster, or just split off them straight away.

Go away with your stupid ideas.o_O
I’ve said it before, but if anyone thinks it will be good to have them back, go read their thread and tell me if you still think it’s a good idea.

They are a bunch of 12 year old deluded fruit loops.

The idiots comment about our thread being closed and yet they have a few closed threads themselves. The irony but they are too stupid to realise.

Carlton were the original March premiers. NAB Cup specialists only to end up with the wooden spoon.

Carlton were March Premiers in 2005 and ended up with their coveted spoon.

They tried to replicate this in 2007 were again they were March premiers but failed to grab another spoon, finishing 15th.

The dumbest thing a club can do...publicly say were going to achieve x on field in time frame y

Part of the reason we know this is from things like the wallace example above and carlton's we're coming campaign

Nek minit at Carlton......

True, but to be fair, I don't see a quote from Carltin in that article that says "premiership in 5 years". "...sustained on-field success that wins us premierships" yes, but that's not actually "premiership in 5 years".

The "return to their premiership winning ways" ("winning a premiership in 5 years" implied) is Barrett spin for the headline.

The goals they have actually stated are IMO pretty reasonable for a club in their position. It's just their history that makes it lolworthy.

In The Carlton Way 2019 - 2023
"Now it is time to own our future. That future continues to be shaped by our vision – a vision that delivers our members Premierships"

They mention 10 key Targets they plan to achieve in the next 5 years note the first key target.
Win Premierships, 50K average Home Game Attendance, 100K Members, Zero Debt, 250K Active supporters, Masterplan Complete,200 Carlton in Business Members, Carlton Respects to Become the most influential Gender Equality Program in Sport, Australia's Sporting Employer of Choice, Revenue $75Million

They not saying be in a position or have the best setup to win one, They are stating Win Premierships
