Campo came straight in like Cyril Rioli to add pace and skill to a contender that lacked players who could break the lines.

Speaking of trips down memory lane...would you fork out $15-$20 to go to the lecture theatre at Visy Park and watch - for example, Kouta's magnificent game against West Coast in '96 or the Prelim of '99? The volume would be on very low and Kouta would be there in person speaking about the game...kind of like a Director's cut. Probably popcorn and soft drinks as well. I'd call it 'Blue Cinema' but it sounds a little raunchy. It's on the table...will probably happen a few times throughout the year. Just gauging the interest. If it's given the green light - what other games/Carlton players would you like to see?

Beat me to it. Probably the best goal I have seen from anyone in Navy Blue. I was sitting on that wing. When he burned off Matera the crowd started to get on up ... by the time he banana'd it from 50m and the goal ump gave it the nod, we were like chimpanzees throwing feces at each other.

I miss Princes Park.

Great moment from the little magicians Norm Smith medal winning performance in the 95 Grand Final, kicked 5 from 31 touches and set another 4 or 5 up.

Loved watching his exquisite skills by both hand and feet, such a decorated career.

Handley couldn't do a thing right that day. Outmarked from the kick in by a midget!

Yep was Brett Backwell, looked a handy player for a while there.

Think he had the finger lopped off when playing for Glenelg.

Bumped into Hoggy at a 21st many years back and a few years after the 99 Preliminary. I asked him what he said to Bewick when he came on in that game, he was too blind to answer properly. He did say though that he told him his afternoon was about to change!

At his peak the most unstoppable game breaking player I have ever seen. He was the best player in 2000 but he and we were robbed from that bloody knee injury. We would've given Essenscum a big fright if we got to the Big dance.

I grew up watching Motley (amongst others) in Adelaide playing for my beloved double blues...he was an absolute jet and even when he didn't have the ball I'd watch how he handled himself defensively and with positioning - he would often win games off his own boot and in those days Sturt had some big names...
The day he went to Carlton confirmed my following the blues to this day... I do believe he would have been bigger than Bradley etc.. Unfortunately I never saw him play for Carlton in the flesh...
The day of his accident i was mortified and will never forget that feeling of both sadness and what could have been.
A champion in my eyes...and a genuinely lovely bloke who had time to say hello and shake my hand on the couple of occasions I met him briefly.
What could have been... : /
