He probably won't mention his Hollywood good looks or the fact he really struggled with depression after leaving the game.

It was mostly his courage. Just stupid courage. I think he broke his jaw 3 times in his first full WAFL season. He wasn't built much beefier than Lap Lap Laps.
He came back and played in ammos in perth for University after he finished at the blues and he broke his jaw for the 4th time.

I also found a small photo album that the club must have sent members in the 80s, it had a pull out photo of all the listed players with their DOB and other stats on the back.

Some great photos in there but my favourites are good old Brad Shine, Des English and a very young SOS.

Back in the day when dogs like Jim Jess could take fair aim at him behind play and get away with it.

Another supposed tough man, Leigh Matthews went Kenny one day at PP, big Wow and Klomp sorted him out afterwards.

I think the young chitlens round here might get some sort of idea of the love us old campaigners had for Kenny if they add their own feeling for Juddy with say, DylBucks. Am I close?
Haha.... Old campaigners lol

Just bought the 1995 finals pack on DVD. Didn't watch that 1st final against Brisbane all that much way back when. Think it will be the first one I watch.

A must watch HBF....enjoying watching Kouta own Leppitsch in the last!

Courage like Simmo?

With due respect to Simmo, what Kenny Hunter displayed was over above what most guys would possess. He has no fear for a skinny, wiry guy!

Great footballer - yep.

Take out the little blokes behind the play is what he did....................

He actually ended Hunter's career with that disgusting act which was from memory in front of the social club. Have not and will not forgive or forget that!

Brad Shine! :thumbsu: Was he another WA boy??

Matthews got him in '82, Kenny still had a couple of Premierships, leading goalkicker, and a couple of AA's to come.

He got him again later than that Stig, trust me when I say it signalled the end of his career.

yep and a Swan Districts boy to boot

Great opportunity for me to once again bring up another favourite Western Australian...Steve Da Rui!!! Can anyone remember a harder more ruthless player for Carlton that was carved out stone!

good player

I have bumped in to Richard Dennis a few times over the last couple of months. He was drinking beers in the past players tent at my footy club a little while back, no idea why he was there or who he knew but he was enjoying himself.

Over the off season we should pick a player every few days and we can all talj about our favourite memories of them.
The Eagles board do something similar I think where they have a past player of the week.
