Paul 'Molly' Meldrum #23, walked in off the street and reminded the Blues that he was keen to try out and impressed very quickly.
Finished 3rd in the Brownlow Medal in 1987 behind Lockett and Platten and may have won if he hadn't suffered so much from his good mate Peter Motley's horrific car accident earlier that season which affected his form.
Molly polled 5 best on ground votes in the first 8 rounds but never polled another vote that season.

Mots accident was such a tragedy and cut short a highly promising career, we were robbed of his great talents but thankfully he survived.
