There was a game against Norf a couple of years ago where we were down by 70 points or something...I snapped my flag across my knee and tossed it down the aisle. Not my finest moment.

Fancy taking it out on a poor defenseless flag!! :)

Worst game. Whoa. I was gutted in 93, not so much in 99 cos it felt like we'd won the flag the week before!
86 hurt, the first time I'd seen us lose a grand final having seen three winners previously.
I've been to some disastrous losses, had my head in my hands a helluva lot last decade, the 100 point loss to Hawthorn in 2007 was nasty but sometimes you walk away from one point losses more distraught, or being over run at the end, soul destroying stuff.
Remember being behind the goals in front of the Heatley stand the day North kicked something like four goals in the last five minutes of the game to win. Must have been maybe 85 or something? Everyone was just left, mouths agape, wondering what the hell had just happened!

Whats the wrost game u remember mines the essendon lose in R4 2012

1991 Mid-winter at the western oval against the bulldogs was the worst i ever attended in all the games i have seen since the late 60's.

Poured with rain all day and our only goal for the day came late in the last quarter.

Just don't wanna get in trouble :p

Hey MEB, with myself, Ace and JK featuring heavily in this thread and with our at times penchant for derailing threads you have nothing to worry about!! Really pleased to hear that there is a blossoming romance in the air between the two of you. I honestly had no idea but really given I do not know either of you that is probably understandable!

I look forward to the day we have the father/son/mother/daughter rule on the BF board.....will be horrified and proud at some of the stuff my lot will post in here one day!! :)

Ahh yes, we all have them!
Back in my younger years (when I used to take the tram up from Flinders Street to get to what was still called Princes Park), I remember getting looks of disgust from fellow Carlton supporters and being told off by them because of my language.

It was pretty ordinary as I recall (my language).

I made an effort to tone it down after that.

I'm a very lucky lady :)

He sure did.
Wasn't there that day, but remember listening to it on the radio.
Never saw an AFL at the Western Oval as it was known back in the day.

Spent many a day on the Doug Hawkins Wing at the Western Oval. From memory there was a weird arse coaches box type set up plonked in the middle of the standing area. You did not miss much by not going there HBF!!

Was too hard to get to back in the day having grown up in The Dandenongs.
Would have taken me forever to get out there.
Usually went to VFL Park to watch any game really.
Then kick the footy on the ground until it was dark.

Those were the days.

As you would expect, the Western Oval was just a typical run down suburban ground. I went there a fair bit around the time of Dougie Hawkins and that ilk. Not a bad ground to watch footy at providing you enjoyed standing in the outer which I was okay with.

Watched a heaps of footy at VFL Park and was just thinking of a quirky little anomaly. If I am not mistaken the concourse to most ground runs at the back of the ground. Think of the MCG and how the concourse runs behind the standing area. At VFL Park the concourse ran at the back of the ground level seats and at the front of the grandstand seats.

Having just typed that I actually realise how useless that information was.....
