I noticed Aph wandered in and closed the needs based drafting thread, but before she did, there were a few who voiced their support of it. I've gotta say, I used to like coming to the Carlton board for a good read and newly posted threads were a part of that. Now every time I come here it just seems like the same old ones at the top of the page getting longer and longer. Sometimes they require wading through a trough of unrelated chatter - or as one poster noted ... a monkey with massive cojones
- before you get to the relevant part and it detracts from the read IMO.
For me, new threads are refreshing and seem to refresh discussions, sometimes refracting them into smaller focuses; shorter, but sharper. I understand it makes it easier to moderate, and I do appreciate the voluntary work mods do on our board, but I'm definitely not a fan of the way threads are closed on this board anymore. Some may prefer it this way - and that's fine, we all have our different tastes - but I'm just wondering if I'm a lone head here, or if anyone thinks similarly to me?
