What rookies are looking good in the mids for 100k? Want to get rid of savage.

Still wanting to downgrade Duigan. Didn't do it this week because i already had Puopolo, are there any good options for next week?

Pedersen is an option but not sure how good of an option because of his job security.

Ben Jacobs is finally debuting, very cheap and an absolute ball magnet. I traded Grimes for Jacobs and then upgraded Otten to Adcock.

Basically, Jacobs has had one run in the SANFL reserves and two runs in the SANFL seniors... his first game back in the reserves after glandular fever he picked up a lazy 30 touches, first game for SANFL league I believe he had 25 touches and his last game he 30 touches.

He's a ball magnet with a powerful kick. Seems to take a lot of uncontested marks too. Lots of rebound 50s and I can see him getting a few inside 50s as well. I'm not exactly sure if these affect his scoring at all, or how well he'll kick off his AFL career, but for those looking for a downgrade option, I think he's a beauty.

Ill give Jacobs 2 weeks. If he shows promise, Libba for Jacobs would be very nice :)

Yep, will wait abit with him, then downgrade D Stanley to Jacobs if he performs and upgrade another player:thumbsu:

Am liking both of those options, although Jacobs will want to show a bit more than what he did tonight (too many kicks to the opposition which is horrid for efficiency, but will put it down to first game blues)

Libba-Jacobs could come at the ideal time as Libba could be close to flattening out by then.

Stanley-Jacobs also looks like an attractive option for those who have another D/M in the midfield. The one downside to this trade is that Stanley scored relatively well tonight and he won't get a chance to appreciate next week as a result of the bye, so he may not have plateaued by then (and Port have their bye in the not too distant future)

Im extremely tempted to bring him in, first game as sub wasnt as bad as his score indicates, only thing putting me off is if Tom Lynch is going to be a better option.

Lynch certainly looking the goods from a SC perspective after tonights game.
Scores of 95 and 82 in his first two games are very pleasing, and it's comforting to know that he has scored two similar scores in extremely contrasting games - the first in which the game was close and his side won, the second which was effectively over by half time and his team got walloped. Much more attractive than rookies who only seem to score well when their team wins.

With the GC having their second bye next week, thankfully we get a final weeks appreciation into a potential cow who is looking at being slaughtered for him, unless of course that cow is also a GC player. Perhaps Darling may be approaching an attractive culling price by then?

My downgrade plan at the moment is next week - Matera > Smith, the week after Liber > Jacobs then Atley > Gun.

Thankfully i chose right, took the punt and traded him in this week. Ive already penciled in my trades for the next 2 weeks.

How'd Jacobs go yesterday fellas? 14 touches, 5 marks, 53dt, 38sc suggests he was a little wasteful?

I saw the game, and he got a bit of the ball but plenty of clangers/ineffective disposals which hit his SC score. If he improved his disposal he probably would've been good for about 70 SC points with rebound 50s, etc.

Edit: It didn't help that other Port players couldn't hold on to uncontested marks to save themselves. I don't know how that impacts about the kicker but I'm guessing that if his targets dropped the ball to have a Swan swoop on it wasn't doing him any favours.

Haven't seen either of his games, but what do people think of Tom Lynch (GC) as a downgrade fwd target?? stats looked solid against the crows...

Couple of Swannies debutants getting a run this year, no idea on job security though. Luke Parker played his first game against Port after coming on as a sub in the 4th and racked up 7 possies in 15-20 minutes.
