Definitely adds a layer of strategy to SuperCoach these days. You only have to look at last year where (especially forward) most of the top scorers didn’t start in that position.

Who’s on your dpp watch list? Gawn and Petracca would be the main two I’d imagine.

Gawn 45% CBA's maybe Def DPP more likely

Always said it was more likely that Gawn goes back while Grundy goes forward, and it looked that way live at the game. This confirms the eye test. Gawn did spend some time deep forward when resting but the majority of his 'roaming' time was definitely across half-back.

Grundy looking likely for R/F - although probably not going to score well enough unless Gawn gets LTI.

heat map is where he got possessions - isn't DPP based on starting positions - would he need to line up in the back 6 at CBA's to get Def DPP?
Gawn was 87% TOG, so was on field for most of the other CBA's.

Re: how DPP is decided. I can't remember whether its starting positions, DPP, or both. Seymour Skinner Jcpdragonx do you guys know?

Adams mid, forward added
Ziebell forward, defence added

Not SC relevant (either s**t scoring or you’re not going to use the new position)
Rachele forward, mid added
Rayner forward, defence added
Bruce forward, defence added
Jarmaine Jones defence, forward added
Cunningham defence, forward added

Watch and see (could be close based off round 1 but need more time in new spots)
Grundy - forward
Mitchell & De Goey - still mostly midfield and small portions forward, but with an increase in forward time.
Josh Daicos - defence
Callan Ward - started forward but injuries meant he moved to the middle

Might only be short term whilst May is out?

Ash and Sheezel should get defence added.

Fairly certain it was based on both.

Using Dusty and an example;

In 2020 he was DPP, had 76% CBAs, if it was based only on CBAs he should have been mid only the next year.

In 2021 he was still DPP, and had 70% CBAs, same as the year before.

In 2022 he again started with DPP.

So it can't solely be based on starting position.

Pinched from another site, not sure how accurate. Seen those numbers for Gawn elsewhere too.

Feel like de Goey started a bunch of CBA's in the F50, must have been imagining things.

What are the chances Mason Wood gets Fwd flex?

Bailey Smith was at 30% forward after the first two rounds and played forward again last night ....is he a chance for FWD / MID DPP ?

This might give away my POD if he keeps performing, but Jai Newcombe spent 63% of the game in the forward half yesterday. Still managed 22 disposals and 500m gained. Kicked 1.1.

Has scored 70, 99 and 106 in his first 3 games.

Will be interesting to see if he continues to spend time in the forward 50. Everything clicked yesterday from a structure perspective so there is a chance Sam Mitchell persists with the Duke as a mid/fwd.

Assuming he doesn't get suspended from the chicken wing style tackle
