Still pissed that I lost to him last week. I had Bartel (2) and Riewoldt (29). He didn't

Get another crack at him in another league though so hopefully I can get some retribution.

Last weeks trades (good for once):

Hibberd-Callinan
Watson-Ablett
Callinan in after one game?

Just because a lot of BF people did exactly the same doesn't make it a good trade! Has backfired big time, always a big risk bringing someone in after one game.

Yep, stretch saying Callinan was a good trade. I was always going to wait until he'd played 2 and had the bye before touching him. Worked out well

Plus he went Boyd over Ablett as captain. Derp

Not the best trade in hindsight but it did make him the cash and Callinan should come back in.

If he had a stronger bench then there would be no problem with the trade.

Bad luck more than anything imo.

It was a good trade...Callinan has guaranteed job security. Craig has said he can play at this level - he's a proven commodity (28 years old, several premierships and individual accolades). The trade was a no brainer as there weren't any other midfield d/g options plus, Dr DT didn't have a midfield DP link with the fwds.

No he foes and can use Callinan still to rotate his Mid/Fwd DPs.

Plus, who could have seen a hamie injury coming on?

AND - Callinan has the bye this week - will only miss 1-2 games.

I want to chime in about the whole picking up Callinan thing.

Firstly, no one picked him to be a starting 22 player - if he was, then that was a poor pick. In most cases, he is a 9th or 10th forward (or deep bench midfielder). The reason for picking him was to get a cash injection. Callinan is the best option in forwards, or mids, that we will probably find for the latter half of the year. His job security is high, etc.

In my case, he allowed me to do a backline upgrade of Duigan to Fisher and leaves me with over $100K in the bank and 8 trades. He is on my forward bench behind Isaac Smith and probably equal with Dion Prestia. The added bonus is that he is DPP.

For Dr DT (and anyone who follows on Twitter, we have had some battles), his trade was great. To be able to turn Jobe Watson into Gary Ablett is ideal - couldn't have got in anyone better. Instant payoff with captaincy (even though he didn't do that)... no byes, great form, etc. Jobe was worthless - close to $300K and no straight swaps in sight. Calvin settled for Stanton. I'm sure he would have loved Gary.

Ideally we should always wait for the second game to be played, but sometimes that just doesn't work! It was an educated trade in for all of those who bought the wingnut.

I wonder if he did his hamstring after the second trade that the experts would all be out here saying "oh, he's 28 and injury prone". Knowing some coaches around here, probably.

This is my first year of DT ever, and even I'm ahead of him.

Does the actual person behind Dr. DT rotate each season? Or is it the same person every year?

He sort of got halfway there. He traded in Ablett before his price went up, but for some reason did NOT send the Captain on him. I'm... just confused by this turn of events.

New Dr. DT next year?

:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Exactly... god there is an annoying holier than thou attitude on here... the guy offers a (well attempted) witty and (at times) somewhat informative information and advice of DT... of which the vast majority of people play to have a bit of fun and don't spend 50+ hours a week to be a DT expert...

Warne-dawgs.. well said.. love the site + twitter gold... keep up the good work...

**** sakes, don't comment on something you have no idea on. Will only miss our Essendon game, was a very very slight strain. He played out the game ffs.

Well if i'm not mistaken that would make it 2, including the bye.

Only reporting what has been doing the rounds in the media, settle dude

Lol. In my work comp, DDT was to play a girl who is the comp, but hasn't touched her side since the start of the year. I helped her with her initial side, and I noticed she had DDT (who was 1st in my crappy work comp, which basically has myself and one other guy amongst celeb DTers, with my work colleagues all bottom 8).

So I got her to log in, moved her side around a bit, made a couple of trades (she hasn't used one yet!) to get rid of Selwood and Sandilands. Whacked the C on Ablett. And voila. She wiped the floor with DDT, allowing me to take top spot in the comp. :D

Hard day at the office mate?

Asides from the fact that your post is purely to advertise the fact that you post on twitter (whatever that is), I completely DISAGREE.

If you are going to do a downgrade to a rookie in a team like his where he's already struggling for rookies to field during byes when he knows he has a multi team bye coming up that affects his fwd line, the first thing you do is make damn well sure the rookies you bring have rock solid job security and don't affect your bye issues. Callinan ticks neither of those boxes. For you warnie, yes you already have good cover so you don't care what Callinan scores, because it's highly likely you'll never need him. Dr DT on the other hand NEEDS Callinan.

His fwd line is:

Fyfe, Goodes, Sylvia, Franklin, JRoo, Higgins, TLynch, howe, dahlhaus, jtipp

(Callinan in mids)

^^ Byes this round...

Pretty much a fail right there. Yes he can swap Jtipp with Petrie, play Cox and Ryder and dahlhaus and tlynch... but REALLY?

Maybe he's going for a league win?:D

I picked up Callinan 3 weeks before he played because he got me lots of cash and I knew he would play eventually and give me the option of using him. He is more useful as a DP though. Having Prestia Mzungu and Callinan gives a lot of flexibility for emergencies.

Were there any rookies who are guaratnteed of a game? IC will be back after missing one game probably so no big deal.

IMO Callinan could be very handy next year also. Should paly every game if fit, and he hasn't had injury problems before.

Did he give his ID away as being Kevin Sheehan in this weeks chat?

That Kevin Sheehan played for Geelong and there is a total absence of Geelong players in his team might say something about that too. I can't see why Kevin Sheehan would be in the Dr's chat box either. It's hardly like he's simply 'forgotten' to log out and then the Dr jump into his chair at the office to do it for him.
