My next door neighbour used to work for Schweppes, so we'd get free boxes of the stuff.

I kept pushing myself to like it, but generally I like my medicine to be 10ml at a time, not 375ml.

It's junk.

The little brother of a mate of mine loved the taste....when they couldn't sell it, all the little milk-bars started reducing the price (every single one seemed to have hundred of cartons of the stuff).

I saw them for $1.00, 80c, 50c. One day I went out to my mates, and he got me to help him move some crates in his shed. I couldn't believe what was in there...it was so strange we had to count. Three rows of 3 columns, each eight cartons high. Each carton holding 24 drinks. That's 1728 cans of Dr.Pepper. He'd gone around every milk bar in town, and offered them 10c/can for their entire stock. (That's still nearly $200 bucks for the lot).

That was nearly six years ago now. I think he's polished them all off as well. I had one can, which I had to force myself to drink....bloody awful stuff.

Dr Pepper, oh how I miss the stuff.

When I was in Scotland about two years ago, it was everywhere. Going back to Europe in the middle of this year, definately going to have get my fix when I'm over there.

I can see how people despise the taste, though. It's like coca-cola with a mint lifesaver dissolved in it. It really is one of those tastes you either love or hate.

And Root Beer is great with Pizza.
