If Wayne Carey is not called out with one of our picks in the 60s, it will be because of the woke agenda. If we don't draft who I like then I'll be in here blaming Sonja and Jen.

Yeah keep going. Tell us how Tarryn Thomas did nothing wrong and Barry Cable was honey trapped by a child.I'm saying the way Carey was treated by the NMFC compared to Dean Laidley is disgraceful.
I love coming here man, some of you guys will die on the wildest hills.
imagine being upset that a dude who doesn't even know you exist isn't in a promo vid about selling a jumper he never wore. i'm personally more disappointed that Kieron Harper wasn't included.

Harper... such a waste of talent.I love coming here man, some of you guys will die on the wildest hills.

I didn't say Carey did nothing wrong. Are you saying Laidley did nothing wrong? As for Thomas and Cable they are not part of the discussion. What Cable did was abominable and Thomas very wrong.Yeah keep going. Tell us how Tarryn Thomas did nothing wrong and Barry Cable was honey trapped by a child.
I have a Kieran Harper jumper story. Or at least my son does.I love coming here man, some of you guys will die on the wildest hills.

President, Coaches and Players are saying the same thing all talking the talk, now they need to walk the walk.Dear Members,
After what felt like an endless off season, suddenly we are at Round 1 - that time of year when footy fans - including me - are brimming with hope, excited and optimistic about the possibilities of the upcoming season.
Tomorrow night our captain Jy Simpkin will lead a team of new and not-so-new faces onto Marvel Stadium. Finn O’Sullivan, Jacob Konstanty, Caleb Daniel, Jack Darling and Luke Parker will pull on the royal blue and white for the first time. Darcy Tucker will pull on an AFL jumper for the 150th time. And our club will begin our 100th year in the VFL/AFL competition.
Earlier this week, I spoke openly and honestly to our players and coaches about what our Board and all of our members and supporters hope and expect from the season ahead.
Yes, we have seen small signs of growth over the past two seasons under Clarko’s watch, and yes we have the youngest list in the competition, but now we want some real progress.
We’ve had a lot of change over the past six years or so and stability is something we’ve been striving for since Todd Viney and Clarko joined our club.
In football, you cannot put a price on the importance of consistency in the program and in your people. This is the bedrock for improvement and for the first time in a long time, our coaching group and program staff have remained the same from one season to the next.
Our footballers have had a significant pre-season at Arden Street and our high performance and coaching teams have crafted a fit, healthy and highly engaged list.
You, our members have played your part too. You’ve turned up, you continue to support and encourage and hold us to account, you’re loud and you’re passionate. We’ve heard from a lot of you over the break - and the sense of optimism and excitement is palpable.
Our players have worked hard over the summer, and their commitment and connection to one another and to our club is unquestionable - they believe in it as much as you and I do.
Now that belief needs to turn into action.
Whether they are like Jackson Archer who has practically grown up within the walls of Arden Street, or Jy Simpkin who is building a legacy of his own, or Finn O’Sullivan and Jacob Konstanty whose journeys in the jumper begin tomorrow – we expect our players to play with pride and with that Shinboner spirit that binds us all together.
The honour of pulling on the jumper demands their best. So we expect them to bring their best, be their best, and demand the best from one another.
Bring on season 2025.
See you at the footy. Go Roos!
Sonja
The players have to walk the walk. I think it is a very good letter actually. Stark difference to the old "we are going to take time and take no shortcuts etc" This puts the onus on the football department that it's time to produce results. No more excusesPresident, Coaches and Players are saying the same thing all talking the talk, now they need to walk the walk.
Yes, that was my point they're all aligned; now is the time for results. The players have to walk the walk. I think it is a very good letter actually. Just want to know if things go pear shape will Chairwoman Hodd pull the trigger on peoplePresident, Coaches and Players are saying the same thing all talking the talk, now they need to walk the walk.

lol
She has been all rainbows and lollipop fluff her whole time at North. If we get another shit year… which looks likely….
All this whilst she had a cancer scare mind you.She doesn't kick the goals or decide the gameplan. We've hired the best coach of our generation, our women's team are outstanding and as a club financially we are more viable than ever. Sonja has met her deliverables.
All this whilst she had a cancer scare mind you.
I wasn’t talking about the women’s team, I am talking about AFL.
You going to completely ignore the reality of Clarko being the best coach of our generation to support your narrative? Yes he was but there is hardly any evidence since coming to North and his last few years at hawks to throw that remark around.
We’ve been financially good for a long time that’s one of our great things at a club (with no pokies) and people like to say Sonja is responsible for all the good things at our club but then as soon as there is something negative “not her fault, she isn’t responsible”. Make up your mind people. Sonja has a heavy influence on our choices who is at our club including coaches etc
Not even hating on her but the reality, under her helm we are absolutely collapsing as a club, and if she isn’t responsible for any of it I don’t see the point of a president? Presidents, coaches, everyone makes mistakes
Under her watch:
David noble: embarrassing fail
Ryce Shaw: absolute shambles mistake
Ben (CEO): bloody lol
Geoff Walsh: remember we had to get a previous president to come in and work out what’s wrong lol
Emma: got no idea what she does tbh
Clarko: TBC but not looking good
Don’t get me wrong other clubs are making similar mistakes in their choices and I feel like their fans have a right to question it as there is a difference between facts and feelings.
How many more years of insufferable years of mediocrity until everyone at north is questioned? We are being sold the most bullshit I have ever heard in my whole life being a north supporter. I mean not even the AFL respects us, we have become a laughing stock under not just Sonja, but Clarko, Todd, etc and previous horrible mistakes has ruined our right to be taken seriously.
I just want what’s best for the club and frankly i know i got zero idea but eh i am sick of being fed bullshit and being forced to accept it as reality.
Go north I suppose![]()

I'm going to assume that "by under her helm" you mean the period of her Presidency.I wasn’t talking about the women’s team, I am talking about AFL.

Very well said. Nailed every point.I'm going to assume that "by under her helm" you mean the period of her Presidency.
Rhyce Shaw was appointed Coach in 2019 under Ben Buckley's Presidency.
David Noble was appointed Coach in 2021, again under Ben Buckley's Presidency. He was sacked within about 3 or 4 months of Sonja being appointed.
Ben Amafio was appointed CEO in 2020 under Ben Buckley's Presidency. He was gone inside 9 months of Sonja being appointed.
Yes, Sonja was on the board that signed off on these appointments, but so were six other board members, the President and CEO of the time, so these weren't solely her decision (in fact she may have disagreed with some, who knows), but she appeared pretty decisive when she did take over on March 15 2022.
As for the other three, I have no issue with bringing in someone from outside to review the club's operations, it is done all the time in business and APS. My one issue with it though, Sonja came out on Radio (or maybe TV) and said that the findings or part of them will be made public or at least known to the members, but as of yet I haven't heard a thing.
Emma is one of the development coaches who looks after our youngsters. I thought that was pretty obvious.
And as for Clarko, when he did take over as our coach, his first season was a bit of a bust because it was disrupted with "The Hawthorn Saga", so this is really only his second year of clear air as coach. I'm not sure if he is still the game's best coach but I do think he has the team heading in the right direction.
