DRAFT 2005 - GUNS - The Next Wave

Look for Shannon Hurn to be a top 10 pick up next year...possibly top 5.

Mark Dolling had an impressive series against Ireland earlier this year and is playing at the Port Magpies this year. If he has a good year in the SANFL he should end up a high pick as well.

Myles Krakouer- Kangaroos
Will Fitzpatrick- Carlton
and i think Marc Murphy is eligible for the lions

Fitzpatrick has aged-out of the under-18s so he will probably not be in the mix in the future.

Murphy will be a definate father-son to Brisbane next year (if he chooses football and chooses Brisbane). Very similar to Luke Power and a huge bonus for a team that allready has a fair bit of young talent.

Andre Gianfagna - AIS squad member, didnt play last year due to a shoulder reco! will play most of the year with school but look out for this kid! he has blistering pace and could be the next Judd!

Guys,

I realise you all have already gone way off the deep end here but - isn't this thread going to be a tad more relevant in, say 356 days' time? Not now?

Who knows what terrible fate may befall any of the 16 year old kids you're throwing up here. They could get a reco, stop growing, find NFL punting a more exciting option, no-one knows and frankly unless you're paid a full-time wage at an AFL club to identify and draft players in October 2005, you shouldn't even be thinking about it.

It's cricket season.......

Cricket sucks!!!! This is a footy board and we talk about footy.

It's all a bit of speculation and fun so if you dont like it dont read it.

Not really.

You could tell Ball (storys of a freak kid getting 70/80 touches a game) Judd, Riewoldt etc. going to be superstars 18 months if not more before their time to be drafted.

How bout Ryan Jackson. Broke his ankle in the International Rules U17 game and missed alot of footy but managed a few games this year with Knights and stared in many. Listed in top 25 I believe on footydraft.com and didn't get snapped up. He's gonna be up there next year you'd think with his pace and excellent skills.

hey does anyone know matt long.....he's under 16.....played vic metro under 15.....is training with calder cannons at the moment.....ive had a few people tell me he goes ok ......gets a bit of the pill....apparently goes to essendon grammar.....has anyone heard of the kid???...

Number One in 2005 will probably be Mitchell Clark 197cm CHF from East Fremantle absolutely dominated under 16 championships in 2003.

Other top 5 contenders would be Shannon Hurn, Xavier Ellis, Beau Dowler and Andrew Swallow

Bachar Houli isnt eligible till 2006 along with Joel Selwood.
This bloke did alright too.:thumbsu:

Big list I know but it's really too early to tell.
How things can change in twelve months.
GH are you able to post your list for 2006?.
This is not meant to be a criticism, just to show how fickle fate is. An injury, drop of form, loss of interest, other pursuits and girls all can make an impact on the development of a young footballer. Considering it was twelve months ahead quite a few were drafted from GH's list.
