Actually this is the reverse to what Sydney offered Richmond in 2009.

They offered richmond Pick 8 and 9 in exchange for Pick 3.

Didnt like what i saw from the videos of gaff.

Didnt tick any boxes for me to be a star. Didnt have great skills (from the footage), didnt do that well in clearances (what we need), didnt have breaking speed to break away from packs/tags he seemed to get a lot of his touches from sheer running to spaces for an easy kick which he usually didnt deliver a good kick from (Although i must say commentators said he is "such a good user of the ball" i didnt see it).

Unless told from someone with greater knowledge wouldnt be to happy picking him up too early. Atley and parker looked more likely types to me

Actually know he, and his father; pretty well. His father still runs a few tennis points tournaments around Victoria so the family is certainly a sporting one. Andrew actually played at a very high level in tennis also, played Australian Ranking tournaments from under 10s till about under 14s but gave tennis up for the football obviously. He has terrific hand-eye coordination, so any sport he could just about do well at.

Hasn't got explosive speed or a thumping long kick, but is a very solid player who has quite a big endurance base. Can get forward and kick a few surprise goals also. Haven't really thought of him being a top 10 pick up until late last year, and still can't get my head around it; but he is certainly on a few people's radars. Good luck to him.

ive been at school with him so i can testify to this, he played 1sts tennis in grade 7, swapped to cricket in year 9 played 1sts, played 1sts footy in year 10, swapped back to firsts tennis in year 12, anything sport wise he can do, he is a good kid, very level headed

Good work rusman, finally someone that knows what there talking about unlike most of the nuffy supporters on here that hear one name and follow it like a sheep over a cliff. We need a hard nosed, skilful midfield quick that can win his own pill and has some mongrel in him.

We may have plenty, but not that are good enough. I agree we have a greater need for a tough inside mid, but we still need quality outside mids as well. Best available mid should be our strategy for our first pick, regardless of style.

From the FoxSports coverage Gaff seemed a bit vanilla. Runs behind players to receive the easy hands & didn't win his own ball. I think the top 3 are pretty much set, but after that there is the opportunity for someone unexpected to have a good end of season & draft camp to sneak up.

I know we want a pure midfielder, but does Darling have the capacity to play a Pavlich type role? I read somewhere he or his coach mentioned that he could play midfield? His star seems to be falling regardless, so who knows when or where he will go..

I dont even think Dodoro and Essendon can stuff this draft up, its looking to be quite a good draft and may go quite deep. Depending where we finish, going on form and the remaining draw it is likely to be down the bottom of the ladder. The need for a quality midfielder is there for all to see so the best remaining players after the gold coast have their first 3 picks are likely to be Gaff, Parker and Atley. If we finish 15th only one of those guys will be left after Gold Coast take pick 5 so Dudoro better pick one on them and not waste it.

Long time to go before then so will see how it unfolds and who knows what the Gold Coast will do with trading picks for players and the such.
