That's a game of russian roulette though, with the lop-sided fixture. Chances are the club that's moaning plays North once while their main rival for a top position plays us twice and leap-frogs them. The reality is that all the other clubs hate seeing us get assistance, because they would far prefer for us to be a perennial cellar dweller, a guaranteed easy win most years while also getting all sanctimonious every now and again saying poor old "norf".
But saying poor old "norf" and us deserving a bit of help, are diametrically opposed emotions for these moronic types.
Obviously the uneven fixture is a major problem but perrenial cellar-dwellers are also a major issue. Wins and losses cannot (and must not) be engineered, but in a drafting system that's full of loop-holes and anomolies, over-rides have to be applied to ensure that there is a roughly even spread of talent and therefore, there's a possibility on any given match-day, that one team or another can eek out a win, even against a more fancied rival.
I'm sure that some of the main board posters who are writhing in bitterness over the assistace package tonight would be living the thrill on a daily basis of being able to kick their little sister's ass playing table tennis.
