I have spoken today to recruiters from several non-Victorian clubs and they are disappointed in the way in which this has panned out. There is a sense of exasperation about Victorian kids who are very reluctant to leave the state and frustration with a perceived lack of action from the AFL.

One club told me they'd had to rule a line through Perkins because he made it clear he wasn't going to head there.

This is not a crack at Perkins per se, I admire his honesty as many draftees have done similar over the years but in a national draft this puts non-Victorian clubs at a distinct disadvantage.

They've kept us guessing about whether it will be Riley Thilthorpe or Logan McDonald taken at pick two after the bid on Jamarra Ugle-Hagan. Both Thilthorpe and McDonald are tall forwards, with pressure on the Crows to take the home-grown Thilthorpe over West Australia's McDonald.
