Good on The Suns for backing themselves in and having a crack. Reckon with their rescue package they could afford to take a punt on Sharp, in addition to go with their blue chip selections, Rowell, Anderson and Flanders.

Next year's draft is going to be almost 2014 bad apparently, so I like their line of thinking

Clubs have passed, the picks are gone.

Clubs can still take anyone who is left over in the pre-season draft tomorrow (for the senior playing list) or in the rookie draft after that.

Always hard to know what to make of your team’s picks when you enter the draft late.
Some seem to rate Bianco and Rantall, but I guess there are positive write-ups on every player at this time of year.

Reading the backstory to the Carlton/Adelaide stuff, SOS and co. with some really quick thinking there the way they played it, have to hand it to him.

The AFL have a media strategy of owning the back page of the paper on as many days as possible. A two-day draft plays into that strategy.

And gives a two day bump to BigFooty traffic.
