I don't understand, we could have got him (ballantyne) much later. seems stupid to pull the trigger there

The eagles would have probably taken him at 36 so if we were really keen to take him had to use a 2nd rounder. What I don't get is why use 21 and not 24, it's not like he would have gone at 22 or 23.

Pick 37 = Zach Clarke ruckman (confirmed)

60 – ADELAIDE – ZAC CLARKE
Oakleigh Chargers, VIC, Ruckman, September 28, 1990, 202.5cm, 82.5kg
(Draft range: 37-77)

Fremantle and Adelaide have expressed strong interest in the Victorian ruckman. A towering figure at more than 200cm, Clarke appears likely to be drafted by Fremantle with one of its five picks from 37 to 77, or Adelaide (44, or 72). Dawson, Jones, Bucovaz, Gugliotta, Zac Clarke, Nathan O'Keefe and Chris Hall are believed to also be in Adelaide's mix.

Someone explain, we had the chance to take trengrove, yet didn't?

Missed robinson... man he would have dominated at subi...

Nice write up on Clarke...

BIO
Ruckman who has also shown an ability to play as a key tall either forward or back. Good endurance (13.13 beep test) with an outstanding vertical leap. From basketball background. Vic Metro representative in 2008.

Think Port would have snapped him with next pick.

Ballyntine is the best small forward in the draft. We don't have a small forward anymore. It was a wise choice even at 21. Harves will whip this lad into shape. Stoked we got Hill at pick 3 and not Dicky knee Rich.
Give Ballyntine a chance lads and girls.

He gets most of his goals from marks on the lead though which he's not going to be able to do at AFL level.

Yarran >>>>>>>>> Jetta >>>>>>>> Richardson >>>>>>>> Ballntyne. That makes him the 4th best small in WA in my book.

Ballantyne is an AFL listed player Dom ...so he is at least equal to Yarran
