Why did the Kings drop down to take Salmons back?

Nice work from the Bucks and Cats.
Got not ****ing idea!

Beno is a much better fit for this team than Salmons. While he brings some of what we need on perimeter (primarily at SF, defence, some decent long range shooting and ball handling) he is not a leader and he is a bit of a pounder of the ball. When we have Evans, Cousins and likely Thornton who will get most if not all the scoring opportunities, Salmons makes absolutely no sense.

His contract runs for ever and he is not leader. Beno was and has a shorter contract. I just hope that Fredette REALLY works out. I get the Dan Dickau and Brett Moloney feeling about him!

Justin Harper aye?

Solid stretch 4. Will compliment Dwight brilliantly, and has been compared to a young Rashard Lewis. Disappointed the Cavs drafted him in the first place to be quite honest. We have glaring holes at both the wing and center spots.

Spurs trade of Hill is interesting. They must like Gary Neal or Leonard a lot.

I thought Pop "loved" Hill.

Spurs don't usually make moves like this so they must see something in the kid.

Is talk that Minnesota will trade Derrick Williams for Monta Ellis

Kahn on the record tonight saying Wiiliams will play for Minnesota this season.

He's done enough trading ;)

Now that I thought about Sacramento's trade I don't mind it provided that Salmons tones it down and is willing to be a role player as opposed to one of the main dogs.

I liked Beno. He has been a consummate pro for us. A veteran leader who worked well with Tyreke and Thronton but all indications from the Kings and Thornton are that he will be back.

Our most glaring weakness has been SF for years now so we traded a back up PG for a starter SF. I am well aware of what Salmons brings to the table. A very good perimeter defender (can guard 1-3), good ball handler and a solid 3 point shooter. Exactly what the Kings need. The downside of course is that he has been a bit of a black hole on offense and tends to pound the ball. Is this the result of his style or being asked to score in his previous stops.

In his 3rd year with the Kings he was asked to score and create and he did. Then he went to Chicago and he was pretty much asked to do the same. Was success full post trade but struggled the following year and got his ass shipped to the Bucks where he clicked into gear again as one of the primary scorers, only to get back to earth this past season.

The upside in Sacramento is that he won't be asked to be a major scorer. With Tyreke, Cousins and Thornton, thats majority of the scoring load taken off. Jimmer and Garcia will provide shooting off the bench and Thompson will likely be the first big off the bench providing some offense and rebounding.

What this means for Salmons is that he will be asked to defend well, spread the floor by being a good 3pt shooter, handle the ball a bit and pick his spots offensively. If he can accept this role, the trade will work out well for Sacramento. If he continues to be ball pounding back hole on offense, then this can go pear shaped.

He does bring a lot of what we need from our SF but there are also some obvious concerns.

We managed to somewhat address our biggest need without it impacting our salary cap space. We still have some $28 million of cap space to play with.

Smith for pick 2 was legit ... apparently.

I'd propose Smith + Hinrich for Bogut. Any takers?

Aye. Jackson's sick of being traded. It had nothing to do with Milwaukee being the team that he got traded to.

Just like Marcus Camby when he was pissed that the Clippers traded him (and the Nuggets before that).

Jax is great and he'll do well with Bogut. It's amazing how strong that NBL/Australian connection has stayed with him despite not lasting a season.
