Would not think twice if he was there. 23 disposals and bucket loads of pressure. 8 tackles.

Gun.

Brett Anderson reckons Marshall may not go top 10 now. Asked about #1 chances he said ....

Brett Anderson ‏@BrettAndersonIF
@NCreely Yep. McGrath, McCluggage, Bowes, Scrimshaw, Petrevski-Seton, Brodie, Ainsworth. Could even throw in English at a stretch.

Add Taranto and you have 9. Setterfield and Perryman will more than likely be thereabouts.

... and if you think Florent is now around that mark ....

... then we better keep #10.

Except two of those names are academy, so that makes it twelve picks if the bidding turns out badly, in which case we get the last one on the list. Imagine if that turned out to be English!

Three academies if you include Bowes as well as Setterfield and Perryman.

Ok. There's still a risk.

Maybe more if we trade down though.

Would expect Brodie to go before Taranto, I rate him in the top 3 of the draft - tall, solid with great hands he attacks the ball like a man possessed. The kid is a machine, want want want want want.

Brett Anderson reckons the top 12 or so will go in all kinds of orders as teams rate these guys quite differently. He said one teams 12 could be another pick 1 or something along those lines. Brodie is top 3 to some and around 10 to others, he was number 1 to plenty earlier in the year. Mc Luggage is anywhere from one to five. SPS was the clear number 1 last year and the best kid since Jack Martin who was the best kid ever from WA apparently. I'm excited by having 10 in the draft, no matter what we should get a very good player with it.

The forgotten man. Jy Simpkin. Prior to his injury he was considered a top 3 pick. Much like Jake Lever going at 14, Simpkin could be the bargain of the draft at pick 10.

Well Acres was a slider from potential top 10 due to injury wasn't he? Just saying we have form....

Where do you guys think Bolton is ranked in draft?
He is a shy kid who only seems comfortable in the presence of his indigenous peers. I would be concerned about him settling in , and I think he is more likely to flourish at a club with a number of indigenous players. He needs to work on his kicking , and his consistency , but I've seen the scout's reactions to his explosive play , and he does have X-Factor to burn. I would guess that he will be high on some clubs lists and not so high on others , so I think around 12-18.

Higgins kicked 1.4 in the second quarter, can play and I liken him to Ainsworth with probably a less reliable kick. Needs to grow a bit though. The one I really like from this game is Joel Garner, awesome name and stands out.
Big bird?

Anyone think we may go for Logue at 10.. ?
seems to be moving up draft boards...
Has a LOT of Josh Gibson about him, with an extra bit of height as well

Big, strong, fast: basically going to be a beast
Ready to play round 1 2017

I suspect (pure speculation) that we were considering downgrading 10 to take him in the teens and get another pick around 20 (there were reports that we were considering downgrading 10 for 2 later picks, i guess we would have had to throw in another pick).. but I am not sure he will last so long and we may even need 10 to get him.

If someone like Scrimshaw is at 10 we will likely take him.. but I just recon we would be having a good hard look at Logue, considering our needs

Hopefully not to be honest

why?

seen much of him?

Shai Bolton looked classy in the all stars game too. The only player who really broke the game up... very similar to JJ in the GF... slog of a game but JJ just knew how to use his pace... Bolten played a similar role... the type of outside player we could use IMO

for mine, Florent really did not have that line breaking ability and did not set up plays, wih overall poor kicking

Really like Florent and hope we do get Steele, BUT ....

There is an argument to be had, likely in the War Room, that if you had to choose between Florent and Logue (on merit) you might want the taller player now cos he'll take longer to develop.

Cue dewah07 for the reaction to spending your first on a defender and Defacto to downplay Logue's recent form as a mid and cue Barrels to sing the praises of Ollie Florent :p

really the form as a mid just showed that he monsters the colts no matter where they put him...
But he kicked a couple of goals at WAFL level when swung forward (2 out his teams 5 for the day)
Anyway, I really have not seen enough of any of them to know... more a question to see if anyone has

But I really did like Bolton from what I saw in terms of run and carry... very smooth mover...
be interesting to see where he goes as well,

Powell Pepper? Is he good?
May be a consideration in the third round. From Matt Balmers scouting notes ....

Sam Powell-Pepper– Powell-Pepper backed up his big performance in the WAFL Colts on the weekend, a game that some felt he was stiff for not winning the BOG medal. Today his kicking was much better than it has been throughout this season, finishing with 18 disposals and five tackles.
