He sat through that crap for two hours??
Apparently he managed to zone out for the whole period by staring at the large, bulging plain paper bag that Judd had placed on the floor between the two men [emoji6]

I am back on the SPP bandwagon. The latest highlights video suggests his kicking is much improved.
Yeah, I'm fully on board and just watched that (on the "Draft Machine") and also the ones for Rotham, Witherden and Ridley.

Rotham really does look like a slightly taller, right footed version of Brandon White, Witherden looks like a bit of a Newnes clone and Ridley is an interesting one, with his marking being more of a feature than with any of the others. I like Rotham, but for the reasons I've previously stated, I might lean more to Ridley out of the two of them, as he might be more of a genuine "utility" and have a bit more of an intercept marking game, if we're looking for height on the HBF. Rotham can mark as well though and definitely has a very nice and effortless right boot and excellent speed. Probably doesn't use his pace as much as you'd ideally like him to tho and if he doesn't get a game in his first couple of years, because we have so many in front of him, will he ask for a trade back to WA after two years? It's not like two years ago when if we drafted him he would have played plenty in his first two years and been a lot less likely to want to leave.

Some of their projected draft ranges are interesting. Witherden 10-25 (same as Marshall and Venebles), Bolton at 15-30, SPP at 15-35, C Cox 15-40, Rotham, B Cox and Maibaum at 20-50, then Mutch, Ridley and Scharenberg at 25-50, Sproule at 25-55 and Barrel's man Begley at 30-60. Very interestingly, Dylan Clarke is way down the list, in the "30-late" category.

Like the look of Mutch.

Actually reminds me of a more twinkle toed Seb Ross style player (inside and out sweeper/ play-maker). Physically developed could be a unique player. Unlike Ross, could have the body for long strides on the outside, and possibly a decent leap to spoil relatively strong marking players (with the same knack for positioning in space among congestion - stoppages and converging packs at an incoming high ball). A Birchall-Ross hybrid down the track? Yep, I'm pretty bored.

Best dual sided player besides sps
Very underrated his ability to open up the ground with his left and right foot will always be very valuable

Just had a look at the video for Cedric Cox and given that I was thinking he was left-footed half way through the vid - only to realise by the end that he's right!- I reckon he'd be in that conversation up to his eyeballs as well.

Cox's highlights video disappointed me a little. Didn't seem to have the game-breaking ability I thought he would.

Yeah, I was a bit underwhelmed as well, in the vid he's not much more than a shorter version of Rotham, but maybe they didn't have many games of his to find the good highlights.

Interesting that so many of the highlights packages on there are from their club footy and so-on, as opposed to champs games, or their games for the AIS against the VFL sides, or the All Stars game.

Much rather see them stripped of picks next year, when we hold two first rounders and no second.

The AFL is dragging its feet as usual , they don't want anything negative for the Giants until after they have won at least one premiership. As they keep saying, that can't afford the GWS to fail because they need the TVs money and they'll only get top dollar if both Sydney sides are doing well. That's why GWS were give a lot more than the Suns were when they started. The AFL would really love an all Sydney grand final because it would be a ratings bonanza in Sydney which is all they care about. Because of the mighty dollar.

As far as key forward depth goes, I think we're in a good position in that Carlisle and Goddard both have forward playing capabilities, so it means that we can go out and look for just general KPP depth, rather than having to have a focus on either key forward or key defence.

In other words, if at one of our picks there's a "KPF" who we rate much higher than everyone else, we can go and grab them, to give us that forward depth, but conversely, if there's a "KPD" who we rate much higher than everyone else, we can go and grab them, knowing that if we need to replace a McCartin/Bruce/Membrey, we have other alternatives like Carlisle, Goddard and Acres and as such, we don't necessarily need to have a "pure KPF" developing in the VFL.

Actually, with that being the case, I think KPD depth is a much more urgent need than KPF depth at this stage.

All of the following can play forward if need be: Paddy, Bruce, Membrey, Riewoldt (for the next year or two at least), Carlisle, Goddard, Acres and even a Hickey/Pierce, giving us 8 or 9 legit options for that area, whereas down back we pretty much have just Carlisle, Brown, Goddard, Dempster and Coughlan (and at a stretch, Bruce) and I really think that Dempster is in his last year and that if Brown is in our team for more than 12 months it's far from ideal, possibly leaving us with only two strong options in Carlisle and Goddard from 2018 onwards.
make that 10 who can play forward as cogs was a forward all of his junior days (not unlike our own brucey) who was switched to the backline to regain confidence and form after he fractured the navicular in his foot.

From those highlights, moves and kicks a hell of a lot like Luke Hodge!

So about the same as an entire club doping program?! Not directed at you MG, but how is that proportional?

Essendon have never been punished for doping in fact have profited from it with list management concessions and the ability to pay players compensation outside the cap. They got done for not keeping medical records of what was administered...but no-one thought there was anything wrong.

They fined them but the gave the money back as competitive balance or something to make sure they could pay their way out of the mess they put them selves in. They will get no penalties for even bringing the game into disrepute, won't have draft pick one taken away and will now get an easy fixture with big games to cash them back up. They artificial finished last because they were punished for cheating by WADA but then get all the benefits of a team like Brisbane who are genuinely ****ed due to the state of their list.

KM how is it you are the only ITK who mentions Ronke. From your description he sounds exactly what the Saints need/want. Why is he being overlooked by others?

If he is anywhere as near as good as mentioned, I hope Trout and Bains are all over him also!

Knightmare

Only invited to the state combine. Being a top ager and not really mentioned much during the year, that has seen him go to the state rather than national combine.

Whether he gets picked or not is unclear, but I'm a big wrap for him. High % contested ball winner and one of the most explosive players in this draft. His game in my view can translate. He is one of this years semi-hidden gems, hiding in plain sight but little spoken about.

I know its KM opinion but he (Ronke) sounds exactly what we need?

I'm on board.

I like Rotham, but pulling a player who could be playing seniors midfield within 3 years, has a few points of difference, and would have a unique skill set amongst our kids, would be nice.

Especially after the Gresham & White ridiculousness. Possibly 2 top 15 talents (definitely a top 3 in Gresh), add another steal, Steele, and a great hand next year for Hopper/Shiel +, and we've come from the abyss to have a mega crack for 10 years.

Most observers think 23 is too early for him, but i think our next pick will be too late.
I can't help feeling he would be a very handy player indeed.

I don't know anything about this draft. However, there must be a reason that we wanted pick 61 from the dogs and were prepared to delist an extra player use it. It would make sense if we had a specific player in mind that we are highly confident will be around.

Carlton will take Patrick Kerr with pick 25... Grandfather is a Blues legend & his grandmother is the Blues #1 female ticket holder
Tom Lamb's grandfather is a Saints legend...
