Just received an email that I won 2 tickets to the draft from that competition on the AFL website...

Giddy up! **** yeah!

(Ps. I entered using my wife's email address as well & she also won 2 tickets.... So I actually have 4 tickets)

Don't tell Barrels whatever you do!!

Well done mate - that's great news

Fair but even if he did, would you re-write that trade of pick 10? I reckon absolutely no way. We've added Steele and Stevens - let's add some outside run or polish now or even a project tall like Marshall.
I'm happy with it over the long run regardless of who is available, but the one in the hand over two in the bush will apply for a lot of posters if someone like Brodie would have been available. Would be a pretty big opportunity loss for 2017.

We get that back in 2018 with a big trade and would still hopefully be ahead by 2020 if we just use the extra picks in the draft.

Only natural to have a twinge of regret though I think if that's how it plays out with Brodie.

... 23: Jy Simpkin
36: Jordan Ridley/Josh Rotham
61: Esava Ratugolea
... 23 - Best Mid
36 - Best Mid
61 - Ratugolea
R1 - OShea
R2 - Best available.
IF ...
- McCarthy gets picked up (strong chance) and ...
- we trade or delist a ruck end of next year (good chance)
THEN ...
Ratugolea would be an inspired choice at 61 IMO.

We need a forward/ruck long term but he could be a backup forward in the meantime.

(PS - His name sounds like 'radical ear')

St Kilda fully expecting Brodie to slip to at least 10 as I mentioned to one of his biggest supporters in Stavro the other night.
Now...if we had have kept 10 we wouldn't have selected him anyway. Trout rates our inside mids and now thinks we are set. Dunstan, Acres, Armitage, Gresham, Steele is a pretty full card. I realize that our inside work was appalling the last couple of years but that's more down to inexperience and immature bodies. I think from next season we start to improve rapidly in that department, especially with the addition of Steele and Stevens and also Blacres is about to explode.
Pick 23 this year is a hard one to prepare for as our first pick because we're at the mercy of everybody else. But, if a KPP that we rate highly is still there then I don't think we'd hesitate. Our list is still not in the position that we have the luxury of picking based solely on needs.
The club is confident that at least one player we rate between 10-15 will still be on the board at 23. I was told that club expecting some twists and turns in first and second rounds this year because of the evenness of the crop, no club really knows which way the others may go.

Surely we are going for SPP, Bolton, Witherden or Battle for that slider at 23???
and please for the love of god tell me we are into drew, Cumming, Allison and Begley as possibilites for 36,61.
Ill spew if we get c.cox, narkle, graham, fisher, mutch etc
As for Ratugolea??? Are you guys high? He cant kick or handball whats the point? Looks awkward as. Cannot teach balance and talent. He has none. Begley or clyobs will be there ffs and they can play!!!

Sounds like we want that outside run which makes sense. Good to hear we are done with insiders I AGREE WE HAVE ENOUGH wth would we do with Brodie!?!

Start rating Acres, Dunstan, Steee people ffs these kids are guns and only 20. Expect all 3 to have huge 2017/2018 and change ya mind!!

GO SAINTS.

Best draft
23 SPP
36 Drew
61. Begely or C.Lyons
Rookie Macarthy

My best guess (using the Draft Machine as a guide) ...

23 - SPP, Bolton or Cox
36 - Rotham, Ridley or Sproule
61 - Begley, Clarke or Poholke
Seriously?
Cedric Cox? Youd waste a pick 23 on 19yo cedric 'cant hit targets at u18 levels ' Cox??

And pohloke?? What? No skill runs like a truck. Clarke??? At 61 yes but as if.

Sorrry but these suggestions scare me. Cedruc bloody cox and poholke would set us back 4 years

Lol poholke' finishing for goal under pressure is up there as some of the top of the draft. He is supremely strong in the contest and his marking is elite. Kid will be a star

Do you have a higher level of outrage than this? Or is this as high as you go?

We mustve been watching different poholkes!
Do us a favour and chill a little mate.

Clearly you've got some good and/or well informed opinions, and it'd be a shame to lose contributors like that.

Can't help but feel you've been a bit far on the aggressive side of things ATM, and it's making me start to dismiss the content out of hand based on the tone.

well he was in a motorbike accident just over 10 years ago, and is missing a few fingers, but considering how the Aussies are atm, he'd just about win the AB medal

Australia's new finger spinner who would still turn the ball more than Lyon .

Tone?
Lol.
Its not as angry as youre thinking. Its more fear of getting cgrade players when theres serious talent out there.

It's actually pretty heartening to me to see your obvious passion.
