List Mgmt. Draft Discussion 2016

Seriously, so many people sleep on Richo as a coach. I can't believe how low some people have him on the coach ranking thread on the main board. He's seriously a top 5 coach in the game and one of the best tacticians and developers imo.

I think a few people might be a little surprised next year now Richo has the cattle on the field.

It seriously frustrates me how many people get it confused with a phantom form guide and a phantom draft? It's not that hard haha

My apologies.

I didn't mean to frustrate you. I can see now that it truly is an error that would rile someone. I promise I will try to lift my game so I can make your existence a smoother one in the future.

You ain't the only one bud, cheers tho !!! Ya didn't frustrate me just so many people do it. Fellow sainters don't frustrate fellow sainters

After reading Quigley, it sort of confirms what i suspected. There are a lot of solid players who are unlikely to be ultimately better than Dunstan or Ross.
My hitlist now is-
23: Powell-Pepper / Rotham / C Cox / Bolton if any of them slide. Maybe Galluci
36: Parfitt / Fisher/ Mutch

61: Maybe Bunker/Williams/i don't know

I know there's no love for him here and I'll be wrong but I like Jacob Allison, he's another Blake Acres. All-Australian as an under-ager, drank his own bath water this year but has huge upside. Super quick, reasonable endurance, good overhead and has an absolute cannon for a leg. At 194cm, he's a utility-type and can fill a lot of holes. Is a Lions academy player but there's some suggestion the Lions may not be in a position to match a reasonably high bid.
Will be watching him with interest.

Just spoke to Josh Battles brother. Asked him whether he's a chance to become a Saint, he's pretty hopeful, being a Saints fan too :). I'm still of the belief we need midfielders although wouldn't be annoyed if we did take Josh. Comes from a good family with strong desire to succeed in footy. His brother is a jet too, albeit a short ass lol, wasn't blessed with Josh's height but has everything else in spades.

Oh and the obvious inside connection would be sweet too ;)

6 days to go Im sure Trout and his team are starting to get excited after all their hours of watching and analysing these kids throughout the year. I have absolutely no doubt they will 'nail' our picks and give us 3 x more potenial starting 22 Sainters..

Then the rookie draft will also be interesting as there is always good players who slip through the draft cracks eg last year NOK & Coughlan!

Good work! Does Josh barrack for us?

Quigley's was an interesting take on him. Looks like aside from the 3km time trial, his testing was pretty disastrous at the combine and highlighted his seemingly pretty serious lack of agility in particular. Did you happen to ask if he's the 192 or 194cm that he is both listed at in various places?

Watching his AFL.com vid and he said he and his family were Hawks members?

It's a shame we didn't get him to do some special interviews Jack Darling style and go nuts at schoolies so he ended up ours at 61. I blame you for not getting on to it early enough.; I reckon he'll be a gun.

As much as I would love Battle I doubt he gets through to us. There are numerous clubs that could use an aerobic lead up forward he is touted as, with picks before us!

I love classy quick wingmen so my choice/s for pick 23 are Florent, Gallucci & Bolton!

Draft centrals phantom certainly throws a few cats among the pigeons.

Still can't believe that Essendon wouldn't have made their mind up after hearing Dodoro talk during trade week.

Not sure they have insider club contacts that Twomey and that would either as their volunteers.

According to them Josh Battle is only in year 11 this year, which is highly unusual. Presumably won't play much if any senior AFL footy next year.

Can't really see Bowes not being bid on until pick 10. He's the most skilled academy kid in the draft. He'll be bid on with one of the top 6 picks
