List Mgmt. Draft Discussion 2016

According to them Josh Battle is only in year 11 this year, which is highly unusual. Presumably won't play much if any senior AFL footy next year.
Worked for Paddy Dangerfield, would it be possible still to run Battle in the TAC like the Crows did?

If he makes it through to our first pick, I could see us taking Galluci. Seems to be a cross between Johannisen & Zaharakis according to latest article on his on the AFL draft hub page

Would be ideal IMHO
Seems very, very unlikely that he'll make it through to us. Sounds like lots of clubs with picks in the early to mid teens are interested.

Watching his AFL.com vid and he said he and his family were Hawks members?
His brother is a big saints fan too.

Always chatted with him about the saints when we played together. I can't comment for Josh though.

Watching highlights, like the way Sam Powell-Pepper attacks the ball, only downside evidently may be his kicking going by the so called experts. (have we got enough bad kicks in our team already???)
Was wondering also if anyone knows of the ability of Oscar Junker? Big bodied midfielder/flanker & evidently in presser during the season tries to mould himself on Fyfe/Bontempelli.

It is always interesting to see how draft experts rate players so differently and I'm sure it's similar in the industry. I remember Trout saying on radio something like, "everyone comes with their different list on the night and everyone walks away happy".

Just looking at Quigleys board from last year and he rated NOK at 17 but didn't have Gresh till 37. Compare that to Brett Anderson who thought Gresh was the best non academy midfielder in the draft.

Yeah, there probably is an element of further expertise to it but I also think people just make different judgements about players.

I guess my thinking was from that example, I would be more than happy for us to grab Ridley at 23 this year as Brett rates him at 12 or something.

In the HS, Lansberger suggesting Florent could sneak through to 23....

Interstate clubs very wary of his go home factor in light of losing his dad this year.

This is to good to be true! Might be a chance though. They seem to think Essendon will go someone left field at pick 20

I worry that we'll take Battle even if Florent is available though.

I love Bretts work. The stuff he has compiled this year has been amazing and is always on hand to answer our questions. I think he's wasted at SEN/Inside Footy, he's one that should be in front of the camera on a decent show

Having said that Brett isnt perfect either. All year he had powell pepper outside the first round and all he could do was bang on about his kicking. Now this week its suddenly all changed with the line "i started to change my opinion in the 2nd half of the year as his kicking improved"

Yeh nah, if thats true then he would have had him in the first round before the last week coming up to the draft

Whats probably more likely is he's heard different from people who know and now he's trying to spin it/back peddle on a years worth of an incorrect call

Listening to podcasts much later than when they're released is very interesting. The spin from truth becomes alot clearer

Lines up with emmas article from yesterday which had some very very interesting calls

Some points:
- McGrath at one. If this happens McCluggage could go to Brisbane. GWS might go with Taranto or Ainsworth as per Sams article
- Tarranto looks to have bolted and is ranked at pick 3-4. This is backed by Sam as well i think. The rumour that GC are not keen on WA talent after Bennell/Garlett/Jaeger could be true.
- Carlton and Freo may not bid on setterfield or bowes. Which means GC could use their last first rounder on Bowes. Which would shape the draft in a big way
- Perryman at 8 which means we could see him bid on mid first round
- Hayward at 9 and Isaac Cumming at 23 are those coming home with a wet sail
- Brodie a massive slider

I'm not worried in the least with who Trout selects no matter. I've only really seen Florent play once & haven't seen Battle in action.

The Troutman has got the runs on the board so I'll be excited about whoever is wearing RWB this time next week.

Hey guys, sorry for the intrusion. I was wondering how many selections you guys have to make on Friday night, based on list spots, etc. I'm doing a phantom draft and need this info.

For example North has to make 4 selections because we have 4 primary list spots open. Appreciate the help!

Definitely using 3 picks 23,36,61.

Although I think Holmes gets upgraded aswell with a later pick

we will be using 3 live picks in the draft. 23, 36, 61. we'll also be upgrading holmes but this is no longer done as a live pick in the draft due to the bidding/points system

in terms of need i think we need height, speed and x factor. to really KPD depth, outside mids or those who will turn games

theres been talk on here that we wouldnt overlook marshall or battle if they fell to pick 23. at first people were taken back about these reports given we have 3 promising KPF in Bruce, Membrey and McCartin, as well as Roo who is near the end, but when you think about it, it makes sense given we need depth and we possibly are going after an OOC star young midfielder next year with our 2 first rounders

ideally i think everyone on here would want Logue given he's a KPD but that doesnt appear to be any chance of happening so people have thrown up the names:
- SPP
- Bolton
- Ridley
- Florent
- Rotham
- Battle
- Marshall
- Witherden
- Gallucci
- C Cox
- B Cox

SPP for me still, i hope he slips through, should be there abouts
There seems to be a fair bit of talk that WC will grab him with their first (pick 12ish), which I think would make a fair bit of sense for them.

The 3 I'm probably most keen on are him, Florent and Marshall.

i think you are right ARR, despite all the chatter they were into Bolton, all the talk now is SPP or Berry

makes sense given they played priddis through injury with a serious back injury because they had no one else inside that could extract it. redden hasnt come on and yeo looks lost inside/more suited outside. sheed will come back from injury and will help there. mitchell could play there. but given the ages of priddis and mitchell they probably will want to get another mid who can play inside. worst case he plays off the flank for them and pushes someone like jetta/hill out of the side and makes masten more accountable

this feels like dom sheed all over again, where people just didnt rate him as high as wce did
