Who would you guys pick from a pure pace and skill percpective out of the midfield?
Generally you get one or the other, but I'd go .....

Bowes
Petrevski-Seton
McGrath
Venables
Rotham
Villis
Simpkin
Gallucci
Bolton

Venables won't be like Murdoch will he in looking fantastic with his 10 disposals every week.
Maybe, but he'll kick 4 goals with them...

Only had 7 touches on the weekend in a 90pt loss to Eastern, but laid 4 tackles. BA told me he was hacking up a lung at the breaks, and was clearly sick.

In other news, my boy Big Bad Bustling Josh Begley had 20 touches (75% eff.), 5 HB receives, 3 marks, a tackle, a hitout and kicked 4 majors in the same game.

Despite greater midfield time recently, he's still kicked 23 in 10 games. He's rising...

One of the forgotten men of last year, former GWS Academy kid Lachlan Tiziani might be worth a look.

189cm 82kg, with good speed and a massive leap. He played down back and through the midfield last year, but has gone forward this year as well for 26 goals in 12 games (2.0 avg).

Otherwise averaging 17.3 possessions (64% eff.), 6.1 marks (0.46 con.) and 2.5 tackles this year.

Good value pick if we can snag it.

if tiziani gets a look in then surely Lachy Walker does as well, huge body and athletic with a nice left foot, averaging 25.6 this year with a few massive games

Disposal is still a bit of an issue IMO, but yeah, good shout.

I reckon trade our first pick (5-8) for Gaff. Reason being we are guaranteed a star as he is proven at AFL level, ready made and will further enhance our midfield and give us another option. Only disadvantage re Gaff is he does not tackle ave. 1 a game and has had 6 games where he hasn't registered a tackle.
However, I think he is classy enough and the tackling issue can be a quick fix. So with hopefully Freeman coming into the side, NOK getting a good run our midfield depth should be a lot stronger.
Then come 2017 off-season with Riewoldt, Dempster, Fisher, Gilbert all possible retirements at that stage and Montagna a question mark, hopefully they can lure a Fyfe (dreaming), D. Martin or Rockliff as well as using our first round pick in 2017 (10-14) maybe on an back up KF or another classy midfielder.

Anyone else think luggage will go #1?
He certainly seems to be firming significantly for that mantle.

Brodie's lack of polish by foot probably makes the difference between him getting it or not if Macca keeps on playing like he has been.

Steven - Gun
Armo - Traded
Ross - Getting better
Dunstan - reached his ceiling already and to be traded back to SA for a mid 2nd rounder

Whats so special about Taranto?
He is a very well rounded player who make shis disposals count. The direct opposite of lewis taylor in that sense. he is always moving the ball forwards setting up scoring chains, scoring goals and is a super efficient player. He was ranked number one in the chams for score assists he is from a basketball backround so he has that outstanding awareness and decision making. I belive that he will be a very good kick at AFL level better then other such as Mcgrath, Brodie Clarke, equal with mcclugage in that space. He always seems to be in control. Has time and cruises along. Lastly he has great potential with his size. He is not just tall id (listed at 186 but looks closer to 187/188) but is actually strong and hs some bulk. Watch him become really dominant in the last few games and finals
