Whats so special about Taranto?
Size, agility, versatility, marking... Maybe needs to clean up his disposal a bit, but there's not too many negatives about him.

Capable of turning games.

He is a very well rounded player who make shis disposals count. The direct opposite of lewis taylor in that sense. he is always moving the ball forwards setting up scoring chains, scoring goals and is a super efficient player. He was ranked number one in the chams for score assists he is from a basketball backround so he has that outstanding awareness and decision making. I belive that he will be a very good kick at AFL level better then other such as Mcgrath, Brodie Clarke, equal with mcclugage in that space. He always seems to be in control. Has time and cruises along. Lastly he has great potential with his size. He is not just tall id (listed at 186 but looks closer to 187/188) but is actually strong and hs some bulk. Watch him become really dominant in the last few games and finals
So you think he goes alright?

Is he a full time mid or a fwd/mid when it comes to the afl?
Whos he play like if you had to say?
Whats his overhead marking like?
Speed?
Footy iQ?

1. Mid who goes forward.
2. I hate comparisons... but the temptation is to say a less smooth Pendles-esque type.
3. Excellent. Really strong.
4. Average but he's always got time.
5. Good, but he's still refining his footy.

Would love to see some of the Sandy boys (McGrath, Scrimshaw, Taranto or Florent) get a guy in the VFL at some point.

Agree with Tiziani

Amazed he did not get rookie listed by one of the clubs this year.

Picking Billings and Gresham at the high end last few years who look to be more uncontested footballers (both more inside with time) means we should probably be looking for a more contested midfielder preferably with size.
Venables a great fit.
Brodie the pipe dream.

Simpkin doing well do be there as a run and carry considering he broke his leg 8 weeks ago!

My fav 2 gallucci and venables in a few categories.

Most upside venables is exactly what i thought, develop him correctly and he could be a star.

Taking the name out of it - and please, for the sake of the experiment, don't mention it, even if you work out who it is; I want to do a few of these - I want to do a little vox pop-type arrangement;

By way of background, this player is a Victorian 187cm utility. His season averages per game so far are;

- 16.9 possessions at 63% effectiveness
~ (kicks: 12.2 at 57%)
~ (handballs: 4.7 at 81%)
- 3.8 handball receives
- 4.4 marks
~ (contested marks: 0.9)
- 3.5 tackles
- 0.6 frees for
- 0.8 frees against
- 0.2 hitouts
- 2.3 goals
- 1.3 behinds

The first in the series, the question is: you're picking him in the draft...

Where do you pick him?

Seeing as Taranto has been spoken about a bit.

More players to come.

It will be all Over when everyone sees video of McGrath vs Vic Country .........vs South Aust vs WA

As for saying we have enough small players look at Hawthorn

Sam Mitchell. 179 cm
Billy Hartung. 177 cm
Paul Puopolo 173 cm
Kieran Lovell. 174 cm
Cyril Rioli. 177cm
Brad Hill 181 cm
Luke Bruest 184 cm
Blake Hardwick. 181cm

All played this year, Clarkson as always is a leader in the way the game is played , speed , skills , pressure ,
transition , tackling .
If he is not there or we downgrade pick then Taranto hopefully available for me.
Disagree with McGrath not having more upside either , think he has more than most.

And part 2; another utility, another Victorian, but 188cm;

- 26 possessions at 75% effectiveness
~ (kicks: 13.75 at 62%)
~ (handballs: 12.25 at 90%)
- 8 handball receives
- 7 marks
~ (contested marks: 0.75)
- 5 tackles
- 1.5 frees for
- 1.75 frees against
- 1 hitout
- 1.5 goals
- 1.5 behinds

Again, you're picking him; where does he go?

Going off stats alone you'd have part 2 in front of part one. Whats your point?

Interest.

Take the names out and people get less caught up in reputations or defending a player they like.

I'm also more interested in draft range rather than one versus the other...

As you know its hard to say just going off stats, part 1 might have a better influence on games then part 2 ect.

When picking a player in the draft don't you have to call out their name and some enormous number? Seeing as neither have names, I will not be picking them.

:P

Part 2 sounds Top 10-15ish based on output. I would have Part 1 up around 25-30.

Lets say first round for Part 2 and mid-second round for Part 1.

Its pretty difficult to base completely off stats though.

Part 1 may be a major goal kicking threat, while Part 2 might just go through the motions and collect the cheap pill.
