What were MG's comments Gangaman?
If I may be so bold ...
We are looking at a couple of FA, not stars but would add to our list if we acquired them. They still may re-sign yet.

We do have some bigger name trade targets, one we enquired about last trade period who is OOC this year, and another who we have spoken to in last week's. We also some young players who we rated in their draft year who may be interested in a return home ....
I think with where we end up in the draft we should and will go shopping with it. There's likely to be more than a few young potential a graders looking for a home.
What if we've already traded next years first rounder?!
.... I'm still very keen on us using the draft too (especially with our recruiting team) but it'll all come down to a decision on what we think is better value in a trade vs draft scenario.
Would depend on who is available and at what cost.

I think Ameet and Trout will be very open to trading our first, getting a nice player and moving back later in first round would appeal.

It's all guess work this time of year, who'll stay and who'll go, are we in with a chance? Things really start taking shape shortly.
Nothing definitive as Moorabbin Ghost readily admits.

I could live with Scrimshaw at pick 7-9. And if Florenti and Berg are gonna go 2nd round then I'd be happy to see us trade out our 1st rounder and double down on some early 2nd round picks!

Thats why he's one of my favourite posters on here. Doesnt attack anyone. Never has a harsh tone. Doesnt mix up his opinion as inside club fact. Just tells people what he knows without trying to boost his own ego

He's one of the many positives of this place

Flog.

Bishop, you sir are a colossal uberflog. Here's $5 so you can buy a clue!
I'd take Scrimshaw over Venables at the moment. Venables needs to show more, for me has just been a tease so far this year... See a very good 5 minutes and then he's unsighted for the next 20 mins.

Has Ainsworth at pick 17, im surprised someone actually has the same opinion as me on him.

But then has gallucci at 27o_O

Is anyone worried scrimshaw will end up to tall to play mid?

Nope. I'm more worried about him ever being a midfielder.

His agility, pace, skills and movement are excellent for a 193cm kid, but he seems uniquely suited to being a tall running defender; Grant Birchall 2.0 if you will.

This is also my concern. It seems McCluggage & Brodie are the only full time mids that will go in the first 10 picks & they are likely gone very early. That's discounting the academy picks.

What are some names that are playing full time mid at TAC level that would be worth looking at with a top 10 pick? Is the Tarantula playing as a mid?!

Am I the only one hoping SPS slides to our pick? He looks classy AF.

SPS is small, which is itself an issue.

There are a few decent 'full time' mids at TAC level, like Clarke and Gallucci, but they're not top 10ers. Florent for me is probably the closest to it, and even he plays off half forward a fair bit.

Then again, McCluggage goes forward a fair bit...

What about Settlefield? Big mid right under our nose playing for Sandy. Would the Giants baulk at matching an early bid seeing as they prob prioritise Perryman & McCreadie?

I think I'm on the Oli Florent bandwagon! Let's get him with a 2nd/3rd!

Ok big man here's the scenario - we trade pick 8 for Marchbank and pick 16 - who do we pick with 16?
Not for me; hasn't grabbed me like I hoped he would.

IMO; Taranto, Simpkin, Florent, maybe a leap at someone like SA's Villis or a bid on Setterfield...Witherden's around that mark if we think he can become a mid; at the moment he's a 186cm half back with very nice skills.

I reckon Bishop's more or less on the money. The flog.
