This is a GREAT year to finish last! If Bowes ends up one of the top prospects, GC could trade two top ten picks for #1. That would be a great result. And an early second rounder is very good this year, due to there being plenty of good kids up to around 20-25 in this even draft.
And even if there isn't a clear top prospect, I wouldn't be too disappointed adding a Mcluggage, SPS, Brodie or Venables to the list!

The only fly in your ' two top ten picks for #1' ointment is that mega flog that runs your recruiting department.

GC won't need to trade up to #1 to get Bowes anyway.

Dodoro will demand a kings ransom for the opportunity to draft the 3rd best player available.

If there was any justice is this world Essencheat would lose the pick anyway.

I think the point is that if they have pick 1 it removes the chance for anyone else to bid on him with that pick, which means they get him more cheaply than they would if a club did bid pick 1 on him and it also means they could use that pick for someone like Brodie and then get Bowes with their next pick/s.

Nobody in their right mind would bid pick 1 on a player they cant have and end up with a default pick 1. Will not happen

Yeah but what I'm saying is that even if Essendon don't it's a fair chance Brisbane will which is exactly the same, it means they have to use their first to get him.

If they have pick 1 they can take whoever they like and then take Bowes with whatever shitty picks they like.

I know the kid Zac Fisher (WA) kid a bit - lively type, has played well this year for Perth, who are struggling. He's from York here in WA and has been playing against fully grown men for a while -Puts his head over it and can sneak forward for a handy couple of goals on occasion, I'd be stoked to see him in our colours.
