I like the look of young Tom Jok, will make someone an excellent second round project player. Give him two years and he could be a really dangerous mobile tall wingman...
Hes one thats caught my eye too

There's probably 4-5 players id be really happy to have, just hope one slips threw to us. If it doesn't look like that would happen id happily trade it.

Its going to be interesting what ess do with the #1 pick, could change the whole landscape

The thing is, if we have say pick 8 (prior to all the academy crap) two of those teams with picks ahead of us could be using those picks for their academy selections (eg Gold Coast for Bowes and GWS using Collingwood's pick for one of theirs), so pick 8 may end up being effectively pick 6, if you exclude all those in the academies.

Potential issue with that is that Gold Coast and GWS could be very willing to trade their early picks, so other clubs may end up with them and use them on non-academy selections, again pushing us back to effectively 7 or 8, unless we're one of them.

And you forgot Brisbane.... Pick 8 could even be pick 5 :o

The two problems you face in relation to your post are 1: There is no justice in this world, and 2: Dodoro has no mercy. Hence we will end up with pick #1 after getting #5 for Carlisle last year. I am sorry for the bad news.
Why would you want pick one when you can have two top ten picks in an even draft where there is no real stand out for pick one?

I'd much prefer to get SPS and Scharenberg over just Will Brodie.

Also, you keeping pick 1 would be the best thing for our club as it may force GC to use their first on academy.

I cant see a club calling out a bid for player at pick 1 just due to the marketing etc. of having a pick 1 player. Sadly it means GC could still grab a normal player with their first pick

As I said earlier though, Brisbane have pick two, they'd be mad not to get him considering he's a qlder.

there's a reason why brisbane, gws, sydney and GC have never bid on each others players... cant see that suddenly changing

Today's under 18s game WA vs Allies doesn't seem to be televised (except on Foxtel) but there's a few worth noting.
  • Sam Petrevski-Seton (WA) in his first game back since injury (All Australian under 18 team, 2015)
  • Sam Powell-Pepper (WA) - can he continue his good form
  • Noah Hura (WA) - first game (one of Barrels boys)
  • Brendan Parfitt (Allies) - first game (All Australian under 18 team, 2015 and a non-Academy prospect)
.... and some Academy boys ...
  • Jack Bowes (Allies) - what's all the hype about?
  • Will Setterfield (Allies) - first game
  • Jacob Allison (Allies) - highly touted (All Australian under 18 team, 2015)
  • Brad Scheer (Allies) - good recent form
  • Kobe Mutch (Allies) - excellent recent form

I posted in this thread that getting two top ten picks would be quite desirable.
There might not be a clear #1 right now, but Brodie/Mcluggage have stood out all season along with some academy prospects. But those two have been just as good as anyone imo.
In the big games Brodie has always stood out as a class above. A big bodied dominant inside mid with great running ability is exactly what Essendon needs. We have some good young mids, but a lot of them are either small or don't fit this mold. I would be very happy to use pick one on him.

Wow, glad you mentioned that, awesome! Saw SPS and SPP in last year's televised champs games, so it will be interesting to see how they're looking 12 months on.

Matt Balmer will be tweeting it LIVE, either from his own handle, or via AFL Draft Central's.

I'll be at Eastern v Calder if you want to see a love fest over Mo Saad and Josh Begley :thumbsu:

You have your own draft thread on Injector Central I'm sure.

Go post this there. We don't give a shit.
