Aisle be pretty happy myself. Would be perfect for our premiership window.
Yep, with McLuggage on board we would be ready to take off.

Hate for him to be lost or damaged in transit though...

If only we were at the trade period now.

Is it as painstakingly long this year as well because i seriously couldn't stand how many nothing days there were

Ummm the main show is the footy.

Doubt he would make an early impact
Touch of class but needs a few years to build up
Brodie on the other hand..

Sam Petevski-Setons vision now starting to really excite me
Capable of winning contested ball and a pacey midfielder aswell
Wouldn't mind him after all

Doesn't feel like it yet. Still feel like the rest of the season is a formality for us where we'll win a few more games to end up with between 8 and 10 wins and miss the 8.

Trade and draft time feels like the part where we can actually affect our future chances of success

I sort of laugh at people who jump up and down when they think they've won trade week.

So do i but its not magic that fixes lists and builds strong teams. It's also not a mighty ducks movie where the brave young spuds beat down on the best team because of friendship.

Unfortunately the reality of professional sports is you build your lists from the trades and drafts and win flags from the finals. We're not in the finals so we change our trajectory by trading and drafting in players.

Edit: in fact the Mighty Ducks only won because they poached the best player from the powerful team!

I agree with the above. We are more likely to have pick 9 than 6.

Can't see us getting the premiership next year, so i guess that's a formality too.

This is why i laugh at people jumping up and down in trade week.

WINNERS

COLLINGWOOD

IN: Jeremy Howe (Melbourne), Adam Treloar (GWS), James Aish (Brisbane)

OUT: Nathan Freeman (St Kilda), Ben Kennedy (Melbourne), Paul Seedsman (Adelaide)

DRAFT PICKS: 27, 66, 77, 83, 84, 101, 119

The Magpies picked up the best player not named Dangerfield in this trade period while also adding one of Melbourne’s five best players and a Lion who was the highest-rated player in the country as a 16-year-old.

It cost them first round picks this year and next but Nathan Buckley’s side will be a popular top eight selection after their work this week.

Losers

CARLTON

IN: Jed Lamb, Andrew Phillips, Lachie Plowman, Liam Sumner (GWS), Sam Kerridge (Adelaide)

OUT: Tom Bell (Brisbane), Lachie Henderson (Geelong), Troy Menzel (Adelaide), Chris Yarran (Richmond)

DRAFT PICKS: 1, 8, 11, 19, 59, 60, 113

Lost three top 10 players at the club (Yarran, Bell, Henderson) and another who had the potential to be one next season (Menzel). Despite adding four Giants they missed out on the one they really wanted (Adam Tomlinson) and Kerridge was never able to secure a regular spot in Adelaide.

It’s going to be a long rebuild at the Blues but with four picks inside the top 20 — including pick one — they’re in position to start.
