Ess - Brodie
Bris - McLuggage
Freo - SPS
GC - Ainsworth
GC - Bowes (Carlton bid)
GWS - Setterfield (Carlton bid)
Carlton - McGrath
Richmond - Marshall
Port - Scrimshaw
St Kilda - Taranto

Also available - Simpkin, Berry, Vannables

Edit: So as long as Marshall and Scrimshaw go top ten we'd be right, surely there have got to be a couple of key position players in there. Could even throw in English.

Richmond probably won't have that first pick due to Prestia, but that could end up anywhere.

Taranto wasn't close to BOG according to Bishop who I'd trust more than the sporting pulse website which almost never lists the best player on the ground first.

Hamish Brayshaw kicked 4 goals.

Must be on our radar by now

That would be great. Who else do you think we should be looking at with that pick?

Vennables seems to have gone backwards. Could Berry be an option?
If we have 10 IMO it's taranto, scrimshaw, venables in that order of preference, if we downgrade to say 15 for steele, there's a chance albeit slim that those players are there anyway, Florent would also be of strong consideration at that pick, galluci also maybe.

If we get pick 6 for prestia you would say carlton would nominate him and we'd have to take him there assuming ess bris freo dont bid.
Yep, I didn't take that into account as we don't know what will happen with that pick, I reckon you'll look at trading one of those picks if you end up with 3 in the top 10

English will go top 3-10.

I'll give the top 10 a crack:

Pick 1 - Ess - Brodie
Pick 2 - Bris - Mcluggage
Pick 3 - Freo - English
Pick 4 - GC - Ainsworth
Pick 5 - GC - Bowes (Carl bid)
Pick 5 - Carl - SPS
Pick 6 - GWS - Perryman (Rich bid)
Pick 7 - GWS - Settlefield (Rich bid)
Pick 8 - Rich - McGrath
Pick 9 - Port - Marshell
Pick 10 - StK - Scrimshaw

I'm liking the sound of Taranto however Scrimshaw is the guy I want. At worst a Birchall, at best a Bont. Yes please.

Didn't think he starred like he has in some of the Dragons' games this year. Setterfield played his best game of the season in my view, McGrath had a stack of the ball playing on the inside midfield so pretty much the whole game. Opposition was poor so was hard to take much out of it, Taranto still was good- But thought he has had more of an impact in earlier games against better opposition.

A few front runners for Sandy who just got goal hungry too...

EDIT: Oh and Scrimshaw had some horrible clangers...

Someone tell me Taranto is not the Mathieson of 2016.

Yep, you can almost guarantee that who ever we pump up will be at another club next year and within three days of the draft we will have three hundred reasons why he's actually the greatest spud in history.

FWIW i think Mathieson has been going all right, and apart from being a D.H. the club could have done worse than to use a second rounder on him if we'd had one. ( See i rate our BigFooty drafting ).

I blame Dodo and the media who pumped him up.

I still remember last year around trade period, people weren't happy about potentially trading pick 5 because we wouldn't be able to get Mathieson haha. The draft combine hasn't started yet and generally we take a emphasis on who does well there.

Last year's combine had Gresham 6th for kicking efficiency , with Coughlan 2nd and O'Kearney equal 6th.
Gresham came first in the goalkicking test. ( O'Kearney equal first and Coughlan equal fifth ).
Gresham and Rice came equal 7th in clean hands.

So maybe that gives us some idea of the club's priorities.
However Matheison hardly ruled himself out during the combine, equaling Gresham in the kicking efficiency and bettering him in the clan hands.

Matho's contested dominance has certainly translated quickly to AFL level. From his 10 games he's averaging 10.5 contested possies per game (despite playing relatively low minutes each week), with a couple of 14's, a 12, an 11, two 10's and he hasn't had less than 8 in any game, which is a bloody fair effort. Averaging comfortably more contested possies than uncontested, which is extremely rare.
