We need to make sure the guy from our forum who stalked Matt Finnis on draft day , reading his phone upside down or something , is available this year to do the same. I love hearing where we rated the players.

I am still a big advocate for the Florent-Berg 2016 ticket. I will be repeating this as often as I can and as loud as I can. Florent could be Josh Kelly Jr, with a teensy bit more acceleration and Berg just seems to do whatever is asked of him, no matter the role; Mid, loose defender, drift forward doesn't matter, he always does it very well and very unselfishly.

Pick 10 & Templeton to the GC for picks 21 & 22. That rates Eli about pick 40 but more importantly for GC it gives them another top 10 pick. Picks 21 & 22 would put us in the mix for Florent, Berg, Galluci, Berry, Rotham and Clarke.

If we keep 10, you think we would take a punt on Scrimshaw if available.

I just listened to the latest road to the draft with Twomey. He said some rate Scrimshaw top 5 although his opinion was that was a bit early. Reading the tea leaves Scrimshaw is a 5-10 pick & could slip to us if we keep 10. Having the potential to be a tall mid prob sees a team taking him closer to 5 than 10 though IMO. Also from the podcast Cal mentioned GWS are likely to at least try & get pick 1 so they can get......McGrath. McGrath looks to be a certain top 3 pick now.

My latest attempt at the top 10:

Pick 1 - Ess - McLuggage (best avail, needs)
Pick 2 - Bris - McGrath (best avail, needs)
Pick 3 - Freo - English (desperate need for a quality ruck post Sandi, he's clearly the best & won't last past the first dozen picks)
Pick 4 - GC - Scrimshaw (needs & a classic GC type they pick)
Pick 5 - GC - Bowes (Carl bid. Forced pick, their pick they got from Melb moves up)
Pick 6 - Carl - Brodie (best avail, needs)
Pick 7 - Rich - SPS (best avail, needs)
Pick 8 - GWS - Marshall (spent time in the academy, they obv like him)
pick 9 - Port - Taranto (best avail)
Pick 10 - StK - Ainsworth (best avail, needs (if he becomes a mid))

I'm predicting we will walk away with either Taranto, Ainsworth or SPS if we are to keep 10.

No way English goes to freo imo. They'll bring in mccarthy and getting a stop gap ruck is pretty easy these days.

And i reckon gc would take brodie at pick 4 if avaliable.

Where do you think English goes?

McCarthy to Freo for a third rounder is the word. He's isn't worth much anymore.

Ainsworth at 10, Barrels will be stoked!

Yeah, sorry fellas. That was just because the stars aligned: the draft was here in Adelaide, they had a lull between the second and third rounds, and Finnis & Co were up the back of the official section and were thus easy to go say g'day to... and he was in a good mood and gracious enough to share.

Sadly, it's not in Adelaide this year. We need our Sydney-siders to take the baton this year.

Did you see where we rated Gresh and White?

It was a bit of a while ago, so it's all a bit fuzzy now. I remember I wrote down my findings here on the night. But yeah, I saw Gresh pretty high up on the list (I looked for his name, since we'd just picked him), and White was also somewhere in the teens if I remember correctly (I looked for his name, because Finnis told me we were about to pick him over Matho with our third round pick - which is why he showed me the phone pic in the first place).

Noice!

I still can't believe we got Gresh at pick 14, which turned into 18. I mean, his second half of the year was huge, he was instrumental in several wins. His poise and vision in traffic, his stoppages in the Carlton game (pretty sure he got most clearances and contested possessions of anyone on field), his goal against Geelong. He is going to be a star.

Hopefully English goes top 9 so then there's more chance a mid type slips to our pick.
I work at S.F.F.C and I have not seen such interest in one of our players , in my time. The poor kid has asked for a break from it , the clubs , player managers , media etc , badgering him endlessly. He will be long gone by our pick....

Do you know which clubs are showing the most interest?

Gooood, we do not need, nothing personal to the lad. Any KPF, Rucks or smaller defenders taken ahead of mids is good for us. Brodie, McCluggage, SPS, Bowes, Setterfield, Taranto sound like the possible top 10 mids. Then there is McGrath, Ainsworth, English, Marshall, Scrimshaw all possible inside the 10. If we stay at 10 all we need is one of those mids to slide. OR downtrade and take any number of mids floating between 15-30 who have some huge potential.

In relation to Cam , I was told that a gentleman's agreement was entered into by Freo and GWS when GWS officials came over mid year. I will soon find out if this source is full of it or not. The pick or picks involved are unknown.
